Daily Inspiration: Meet Berlanda Valliere

Today we’d like to introduce you to Berlanda Valliere.

Hi Berlanda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Honestly, my journey started pretty simply. I was always the one pulling out my phone to capture moments, little details, emotions, people just being themselves. My sister was actually the one who pushed me to take it more seriously; she encouraged me to get a camera. Once I did, everything changed. Shooting became my therapy. It gave me a space to create, express, and process life in my own way.

I started in 2019, just exploring and learning as I went. Over time, it grew from a hobby into something deeper, a way to tell stories, to celebrate individuality, and to connect with my community. Now, I run Bee Captured Photography here in Dallas, and my work focuses on lifestyle, branding, and creative portraiture. I’ve also expanded into videography and social media management, helping other creatives and entrepreneurs bring their vision to life.

It’s been a journey of growth and self-discovery. Every shoot reminds me why I started, that photography isn’t just about images; it’s about creating something that makes people feel seen.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I’m grateful for that. In the beginning, I struggled with self-doubt and not having all the resources or connections that other photographers seemed to have. I had to learn everything on my own, from camera settings to editing to marketing myself, all while juggling a full-time job and figuring out who I was as an artist. There were times I questioned if I was good enough or if people would ever see my work the way I saw it.

Even though I started out by myself, I met some incredible people along the way who offered advice, shared opportunities, and helped me sharpen my craft. Their encouragement reminded me that community matters, especially in creative spaces. Every challenge and every connection taught me resilience, patience, and trust in my creative instincts. Looking back, I see how those moments and relationships shaped me into the artist I am today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a Dallas-based photographer and videographer, and I run Bee Captured Photography. My work focuses on lifestyle, branding, and creative portraiture, but what I’m really known for is the way I tell stories through emotion and atmosphere. Whether it’s a personal portrait, a brand shoot, or a community event, I love creating visuals that feel alive, where people can see themselves, their growth, and their confidence reflected back.

What I’m most proud of is how far my work has come from simply picking up a camera to now creating meaningful connections through my art. Every session feels like a collaboration built on trust and authenticity. I think what sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with intention. I don’t just take photos; I build experiences that make people feel seen, celebrated, and confident in their own light.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My biggest advice is to just start, even if you don’t have everything figured out. When I began, I didn’t have the best camera or the most experience, but I showed up with what I had and learned as I went. Consistency and curiosity will take you farther than perfection ever will. Don’t wait until you feel ready; growth happens in motion.

I also wish I knew earlier how important community and mindset are. Surround yourself with people who inspire you and believe in your vision. Don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s, because everyone’s path unfolds differently. Keep creating, keep learning, and remember why you started. The more you trust your eye and your voice, the more your work will stand out naturally.
