Today we’d like to introduce you to Yall Play Too Much.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
“Y’all Play Too Much” really started as an idea born from my love of entertainment, connection, and laughter. I’ve been in the entertainment and event industry for over 15 years, hosting shows, managing events, and building platforms for talent through my company, SwitchAlert Comedy. Over time, I realized people were craving experiences that went beyond just watching a show — they wanted to be part of the fun.
So, I created Y’all Play Too Much, LLC, an interactive comedy gaming experience that blends humor, music, and games to bring people together. What started as a fun concept for pool parties and small gatherings quickly grew into a full-blown entertainment brand with themed events like “A Brunch of Games” and “Custom Go!”, featuring live DJs, comedy hosts, and audience participation.
Our goal has always been simple: to make people laugh, connect, and create unforgettable memories. The response has been incredible — we’ve partnered with local brands, venues, and fashion lines like IAL Fashion, expanding our reach and adding new layers to what we do.
Today, YPTM isn’t just an event; it’s a movement centered around interactive entertainment, culture, and community. And what keeps us going is seeing people walk away smiling, saying, “Man, y’all really do play too much.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
That’s a great question — and honestly, no, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like any growing brand or creative vision, Y’all Play Too Much faced its share of challenges.
In the beginning, the toughest part was getting people to understand the concept. It’s not a typical comedy show or just a game night — it’s both, wrapped in energy, crowd engagement, and live entertainment. So, I had to put in a lot of groundwork to show venues, sponsors, and even audiences that this kind of experience had real value.
Another major challenge was building a reliable team and infrastructure that could scale with the demand. When you’re creating something new, you wear every hat — host, promoter, marketer, and even sound tech some nights. Balancing the creative side with the business side taught me a lot about patience, structure, and the importance of partnerships.
And of course, like many in entertainment, the pandemic forced us to rethink everything — from how we gather to how we keep people engaged safely. But in a way, that also pushed us to innovate and make our shows even more interactive and adaptable.
Through it all, I’ve learned that every setback was really just a setup for a stronger comeback. The struggles shaped the brand’s identity — one built on fun, resilience, and community.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What I do is create experiences that connect people through laughter, music, and participation. I specialize in interactive entertainment — blending comedy, games, and crowd engagement to turn any event into something unforgettable. Through my companies, SwitchAlert Comedy and Y’all Play Too Much, LLC, I’ve built a brand around energy, connection, and creativity.
I’m best known for being a dynamic host and producer who can read a crowd and instantly shift the energy of a room. Whether it’s a pool party, corporate event, or live show, I have a knack for getting people involved — even the ones who swore they’d just “watch from the side.”
What I’m most proud of is turning a fun idea into a full-fledged entertainment platform that now partners with other brands like IAL Fashion and supports community events across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Seeing something that started from a simple idea — “let’s make game nights funnier and more interactive” — grow into a movement that brings people together is incredibly rewarding.
What sets me apart is my authenticity and versatility. I’m not just hosting or performing — I’m curating an experience. I bring over 15 years of event and sales experience, so I understand both the entertainment and business sides. And at the core, I genuinely love people — that’s what keeps the energy real, the laughter contagious, and the brand growing.
How do you define success?
I define success as being able to use your gifts to create something that makes a difference — whether that’s making people laugh, bringing a community together, or inspiring someone to chase their own ideas. With Y’all Play Too Much, success is seeing people walk away smiling, connecting with each other, and saying, “That was something different.” That reaction means the vision worked.
It’s also about growth and consistency — building something that lasts, not just something that trends. Every event, every collaboration, every person who leaves with a good experience adds to that success story.
At the end of the day, I measure success by the joy I create, the relationships I build, and the legacy I’m leaving behind — because if people remember how you made them feel, that’s real success.
