Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Wahl.
Hi Cameron, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey started with a craving—for a style of pizza I just couldn’t find anywhere. That curiosity led me to buy a pizza oven and dive headfirst into learning the craft. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. I became obsessed with perfecting the process and found real joy in serving my creations to friends, family, and eventually customers.
As a one-man operation, it took about a year to really get the hang of everything—from dough prep to firing pizzas and managing the logistics. There’s a lot of moving parts, and keeping all the plates spinning has been a challenge, but also incredibly rewarding. Every pizza I make is a reflection of that journey, and I’m proud of how far it’s come. I wanted to make Wahl Pizza Co. more than just pizza, I want our customers to have an experience that also has great pizza.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s definitely been far from smooth—and honestly, I don’t think it would be as fun or rewarding if it had been easy from the start. Like anything worth doing, there’s been a lot of trial and error. I had to learn what not to do before figuring out what does work.
From experimenting with different dough types and ingredient combinations to figuring out the best order of toppings, every step has been a learning experience. It felt like starting out on a bumpy gravel road in the middle of nowhere, slowly paving my way toward something smoother and more refined. And while the road’s not perfect yet, the progress has been incredibly satisfying.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Wahl Pizza Co.?
Wahl Pizza Co. is a small, locally owned pizza company—and proudly one of the hardest reservations to get in Dallas. Our limited space creates an intimate, elevated experience for our guests, and we’ve built a reputation for personalized service and unforgettable pizza.
We specialize in handcrafted, wood-fired pizzas served in a setting that feels more like a dinner party than a restaurant. In addition to our regular service, we host pop-up events and private parties—think backyard hibachi or burger nights, but with artisan pizza as the star.
What sets us apart is the personal touch. We’re a small, family-run operation, and that allows us to slow things down and make each experience unique. While many places focus on volume, we focus on connection—making sure every guest feels like they’re part of something special.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how far we’ve come in such a short time. I always believed Wahl Pizza Co. could be something great—I just didn’t expect it to be this good, this fast.
And this is just the beginning. We’ve got big plans in the works. While I can’t share all the details just yet, I can say we’re looking to expand our offerings and create more opportunities for events and parties. We’ll probably still be the toughest reservation in town—but hopefully with a few more seats at the table.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality I value most—and credit for much of my success—is the commitment to never settle. I believe in continuous improvement, always looking for ways to get just 1% better every day. Whether it’s refining a recipe, improving the guest experience, or streamlining operations, there’s always room to grow.
That mindset keeps things exciting and pushes me to stay curious, stay humble, and keep evolving. It’s not about perfection—it’s about progress. And that drive is what fuels everything we do at Wahl Pizza Co.
