Casey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was in the Army infantry for 6 years, deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Upon getting out from the military I found out how difficult it was to find employment that shared the same values and feelings of belonging that the military did. When I was presented with the opportunity with JDog, I jumped at the offer. It offered not only a huge challenge but a brotherhood and opportunity to share the military values
I had grown to know. JDog empowers military veterans with the opportunity of owning and running a business while being apart of a national brand. We started with just myself, a truck and trailer. Now we have 5 trucks, 6 trailers, and employ over 11 people with over half being veterans. We are growing bigger every day.
Has it been a smooth road?
Every day presents a new and unique challenge, however having learned from each one, we as a team can adjust accordingly devise a plan, then execute! We turn challenges into learning experiences.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the JDog Junk Removal story. Tell us more about the business.
JDog Junk Removal is national franchise exclusive to military veterans and their families. We offer many services including single item pick up, residential and commercial clean up, full house clean outs, construction site clean up and interior and structural demolition.
What sets us apart from everyone else is our strong military veteran presence along with our core values being respect, integrity, and trust. We are most proud of hiring and offering veterans all over to be apart of a national military brand.
Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years? Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
Within the next 10 years, I see over 10,000 veterans employed under JDog whether owning or managing. We may have started small, but we’re growing bigger every day! I myself would like to have more than tripled my total operating force and have at least 80% veterans working with me.
