Gisella Glasgow shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Gisella, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
What’s surprised me most is how much people crave connection through creativity. I used to think they came for the plants but really, they come for the feeling. There’s something powerful about slowing down, laughing with others, and making something with your own hands. Even people who insist they’re “not creative” end up leaving proud and smiling. It’s a reminder that what I offer isn’t just a craft, it’s a little spark of joy and confidence people didn’t know they needed.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m the founder of EventsGK, a creative event brand that brings people together through unique, hands-on experiences. Under EventsGK, I run Plant & Sip, where guests build living art through succulent terrariums, and The Patch Parlor, a mobile hat bar where everyone designs their own custom trucker hat with thousands of patches and charms.
What makes my brand special is how it turns simple moments into joyful memories. Whether it’s a corporate team event, a girls’ night, or a community fundraiser, I love watching people connect, laugh, and discover their creative side. Right now, I’m focused on expanding partnerships and bringing fresh, seasonal workshops across North Texas.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I realized I could create something from nothing. As a little girl, I loved crafting. Turning simple materials into something beautiful with my own hands. That feeling of transformation stuck with me.
Years later, when I hosted my very first Plant & Sip workshop, I felt that same spark! Watching people light up as they created, connected, and surprised themselves. It reminded me that power doesn’t always come from titles or money, it comes from vision, courage, and the belief that you can make an idea real. That’s when I knew I was on the right path.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self, “Trust your path, even the twists and setbacks are guiding you somewhere beautiful.” You don’t have to have it all figured out to create something meaningful. Your creativity, your kindness, and your courage will open doors you can’t even imagine yet. Keep showing up with heart, everything you’re dreaming of is already taking root.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely. The public version of me is the real me, it’s just the most vibrant, outgoing version that loves connecting with people. What you see at a workshop or event, my energy, creativity, and laughter, that’s truly who I am.
Of course, there’s also a quieter side of me that recharges with family, plays tennis, and finds peace in small moments. But both parts come from the same place: love for people, passion for creating, and gratitude for this journey. So yes, the public me is real. It’s just the me that’s turned all the way up.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, absolutely. I’ve learned that real fulfillment comes from why you do something, not who notices it. Even if no one praised me, I’d still give my best, because creating joy, connection, and beauty for others fills me up. That’s my fuel.
When I see someone smile during a workshop or say, “I didn’t know I could do this,” that’s the reward. Praise is nice, but passion and purpose, that’s what keeps me going every single day.
