An Inspired Chat with Donovan Bridgeforth

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Donovan Bridgeforth. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Donovan, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me starts early with news updates, sports scores, and TXAN 24 planning. By mid-morning, I’m coordinating coverage, and handling calls from coaches or local partners.

Afternoons are for creating; writing stories, editing footage, and shaping content for The East Texas Football Show or TXAN’s evening lineup. Between that and developing The Official Black App or new TXAN series, the work never really slows down.

Evenings often mean filming games, reviewing broadcasts, or working out before the next day’s grind begins. Every day blends media, music, and strategy. Some may say the pace is relentless, but it’s exactly how I like it.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Donovan Bridgeforth, News Director and founder of TXAN 24 News, where we deliver investigative reporting, exclusive sports coverage, and stories that matter to Texans. I host The East Texas Football Show and D-Up, highlighting local athletes and talent making it to the next level. TXAN 24 News is unique because we’re part of the community, not just reporting on it. I’m also the owner of The Official Black App and a recording artist with 1992 Records. Right now, I’m focused on growing TXAN 24 News by producing original series, and telling stories that elevate Texas and the people who call it home.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with my father most shaped how I see myself a capable, intelligent, loving and most of all resourceful,

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering sharpens skills that if given the choice, we would never work on.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Kobe Bryant’s character is the most admirable in my opinion because of the consistency of the stories that are told about how he was determined to reach his highest potential, and his character never changed.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If immortality were real, what would you build?
The greatest library the universe has ever seen.
