Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Boss Kaee of Dallas

Boss Kaee shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Boss , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
LIFE
No one told us that our lives would end up like this! Rather good or bad, Hard or soft. Nobody warned us of the struggles, the pain, the pleasures, the happiness that can easily turn sour. The frown that can be turned downside up. The anticipation. Lack of empathy. The tests and temptations. The money troubles and gains. The struggles of parenting while also balancing love. Family problems, hold everybody together. Death.
The Way Of Life. We all struggle, the question is, why?

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kaee or Boss Kaee. My businesses are Opelocd and Boss Studios. I’m a Celebrity Stylist/Master Loctician primarily in DFW but travel nationwide.
I specialize in everything LOC’D
I don’t wanna spoil what I’m currently working on but by the time my next article comes around, we’ll be up and running successfully!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
No one ever told me who I had or was supposed to be except my mother. From birth, she told and taught me “I was the shit” So the shit I became! No exceptions I’ll always stay EXCEPTIONAL!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Continue to be you, I promise it worked out in the end.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
My Salon, My Shop aka My Baby. I’ve been wanting this for so long I think this maybe the only thing I ever truly wanted super bad! When I first started taking hair seriously it was my dream. I told a shop owner once and he told me that would never happen, told me he wasn’t being mean but everyone who works at his shop says the same thing and never does it. I NEVER WORKED AT HIS SHOP and still to this day WONT!! I’ve had a recent transgression with someone I thought was a friend maybe even a mentor and it gave the same vibes. Now my mission is close to completion. Soon I’ll be able to say I did it for me. For my peace, for my free will. For Kaee. But most importantly For Boss Kaee!

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I give everything my best because I don’t have anyone praising me for it! At least for a very long time I didn’t. That’s why I praise myself, congratulate myself, love myself because it was a time and still is where no one did a double take. No one said you’re doing good, no one said you got this. Only the little voice in my head told itself keep going you don’t need validation to know your the shit, make the best out of everything.
