Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Irene Avramidis of Fort Worth

We recently had the chance to connect with Irene Avramidis and have shared our conversation below.

Irene , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Wake up at 6am, get into my kitchen start baking or creating new products. I am also working on relaunching my bakery.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I have been baking and cooking since 2002 in South Africa. As a Greek, I grew up surrounded by the aromas and traditions of home cooking and baking. I began my career by offering private cooking lessons and later founded a catering company. In 2012, my family and I immigrated to the United States, where I identified a growing demand for gluten-free and vegan products. This inspired me to start developing my own line of baked goods.
My first product in the U.S. was gluten-free wedding cookies, followed by red velvet cupcakes. I expanded my reach by supplying a variety of products to six coffee shops in the Fort Worth area. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic forced me to pause these partnerships. Currently, I focus on fulfilling custom cake orders, with a recent emphasis on graduation cakes. I specialize in vegan and gluten-free muffins, cupcakes, macarons, cookies, and cakes, all made from scratch using only the finest ingredients. Every order is baked fresh to ensure the highest quality.
Baking is my passion and a source of stress relief. With years of experience, I am equipped to handle large orders for both individual and corporate clients. My ideal customers are those who value fresh, high-quality, vegan, and gluten-free baked goods tailored to their needs.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
Watching my parents working hard in their own butchery shop and catering company.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I don’t believe in giving up. I will get frustrated, but I just keep going. The only time I gave up on something was because I failed at it over and over again over many years of trying. I reflect and realise it’s not meant to be. However, the experience of that helped me to grow and take lessons from that experience.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
What you see in public in regards to my public version is exactly who I am. I don’t pretend. I am a very honest person and I try to live my Christian faith which is Greek Orthodox. My faith makes me who I am.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was living my faith. That I.was passionate about whatever I did. Hiw happy I.always was and grateful always. Also, the love I had for people and my church. It’s my church that I have gotten fully involved in. I am a part of many different ministries and it’s where God has lead me. I feel total contentment serving my Lord and community.
