Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with PeezyGoHard of Dallas

We’re looking forward to introducing you to PeezyGoHard. Check out our conversation below.

Hi PeezyGoHard, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Fatherhood brings me the most joy outside of work. Day-schooling my youngest child Kaesarian (3) during the week and doing basketball drills every weekend with my oldest child Jasiah (10) the best moments are with them

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Yo, what’s good, world? Thanks for having me—I’m PeezyGoHard, but you can call me Peezy. Born and raised Daylon Brown in Old East Dallas, right off Ferguson Road, where the streets taught me everything from hustle to heart. Started rhymin’ at 8 years old, scribblin’ bars on whatever scrap paper I could find, dreamin’ big like the OGs—Eazy-E, Dame Dash, Master P for the business side, and Andre 3000 for that smooth, melodic flow that makes my tracks hit different. Music’s been my escape and my weapon since day one, turnin’ pain into punchlines and grind into gold.
What I do? I’m a rapper, singer, songwriter, and full-on entrepreneur runnin’ Black Dollar Records, my independent label I founded back in 2016. We ain’t just droppin’ heat—we’re buildin’ a movement. Signed my first artists like Jaayb, Toot, Kenn, BDR Huncho, and 4BabyTra, pushin’ singles like “Cake,” “MODE” (that’s my latest, check it on Spotify), and collabs that got us spins on FishBowlRadio, ReallyfeStreetStarz, and even Detroit’s LunchBreakSessions. It’s all about elevatin’ talent from the trenches, givin’ ’em platforms without the major-label chains. And yeah, I got my own ventures too—like Achlys Earbuds, ’cause why not flip the script on the gear we use to blast our sounds?
What makes Black Dollar Records special? Man, in a game stacked with gatekeepers, we’re the underdogs bettin’ on community over clout. We’re not just makin’ music; we’re investin’ in the culture—linkin’ up with nonprofits like Breaking Chains of Hunger and A Heart That Heels Foundation to feed families and heal communities right here in Dallas. It’s personal—growin’ up, I saw too many folks get left behind, so now we’re the bridge. Ownership is key: I handle the artistry, the A&R, the promo, the whole ecosystem, ‘cause nobody’s gonna build your empire like you.

My story? Straight grit. Broke through with my single “Everything Is Everything” feat. JDon MoneyBoiii in 2015—landed that REALTALKNOBS interview and knew it was time to level up. From cyphers in the park to ownin’ the boardroom, it’s been a wild ride of late nights, doubters, and divine detours. Right now, I’m locked in on expandin’ the label roster, droppin’ my next project that’s got that melodic trap soul with stories from the block, and pushin’ more philanthropy ‘cause real success lifts everybody. If you’re feelin’ inspired, hit up blackdollarrecords.com, stream the catalog, or slide in my DMs—we’re always scoutin’ fire. Let’s build somethin’ legendary together. What’s your story?

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
A few people, starting with my Mother who i give all praise and worship to. My aunt Yvonne & Uncle Dino who produced my wisdom. My childhood friends Izaiah, Mack and Michael who stood by myside and pushed me to this point. My mentor Jerome Jordan who gave me the opportunity to sharpen my skills and Jamar (BDR Jaayb) who believed in my vision. I cant forget all of my God mothers who took me in. Tanya, Monica, My aunt Brandy.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
In suffering, the people you think will cover you in love and support will watch and examine the suffering. No one will come and offer any guidance, security or clarity. Suffering teaches you to only rely on you during hardship.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Loyalty

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
I got a heavy foot invested into raw and digital gold, silver, & crypto. My biggest goal that probably wont pay off 7-10 years from now is to become my own Reserve/Bank.
