Story & Lesson Highlights with Elena Sanchez of Coppell, Tx 75019

Elena Sanchez shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Elena , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Spending time with my family and my 2 dogs

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Elena, and I am the founder of Illusions by Ink Studio, a paramedical tattoo studio based in the Dallas area. We specialize in using advanced paramedical tattooing and permanent makeup techniques to conceal scars, stretch marks, and other skin discolorations.
What we do at Illusions by Ink is more than just tattooing; it’s about helping people regain their confidence and feel comfortable in their own skin. We believe that every scar tells a story, and we are here to help our clients rewrite that narrative. Our techniques, often referred to as skin camouflage or scar camouflage, involve using custom-blended, skin-toned pigments to blend scars with the surrounding skin, making them nearly invisible.
My background is in tattooing, but I found my true passion in paramedical tattooing, or “trauma-informed artistry,” because I saw it as a powerful way to help others. We work with clients to address scars from surgeries, including tummy tucks and facelifts, as well as stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, and conditions like vitiligo. We also offer other services such as 3D areola tattooing and scalp micropigmentation for hair loss. Our studio is dedicated to a personalized approach, ensuring each client receives a tailored treatment plan based on their unique needs and skin texture. The results are natural and subtle, helping people feel empowered and rejuvenated.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My mom taught me the most about work and work ethic.. She was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at the age of 28, but no matter what she did not give up! She worked throughout her treatment and she worked to provide for myself and my younger brother. I believe learned the true meaning of grit by watching my mom.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering, in my experience, isn’t about hardship for hardship’s sake. It’s a crucible that forges character. When you don’t have the easy path, you’re forced to get resourceful. For me, that meant learning to be creative and adaptable. Instead of just buying a solution, I learned to build one myself. This mindset has become a huge asset in my business, where problems aren’t just obstacles—they’re opportunities to innovate and grow.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes I don’t feel the need to “wear a mask” because my authentic self is the only one I present to the world.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would stop spending time on physical things and focus on spending as much time with my family and making sure to leave the world a better place than I found it.
