Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Brandon Smallwood of North Texas

We recently had the chance to connect with Brandon Smallwood and have shared our conversation below.

Brandon , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
The proudest moment that I had recently was the one I shared with my mother she decided to take on another child that’s not hers to raise and it’s something about life that just makes you take a pause every time you get the moment and just reflect on the beauty of life and how life can change just that fast I understand and I love my mother for doing this I love her for doing what she did for me and my sister May God bless all the mothers out there

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Brandon but I go by Karizma on the Beat as my artist name the brand I represent is my own label that I started Lionheart music and currently I’m working on a new album a rapper’s best friend type of project

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The first moment I felt powerful is when my mother bought me my first computer back in the ’90s before there was household names in the house of computers I had a custom built PC that had ’90s graphic games and other things I was immediately hooked on how technology can influence thpe world and change things….

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I thought I knew it all when I was younger I thought that I knew better than my mother better than any older person than any old person in my family but I had to realize from friends and family alike that I didn’t know anything at all I was just a student of life continuously learning and evolving some evolutions were not given without some type of dedication to knowing what you need to know

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I want to just make everybody happy including myself I want to be able to spread love and joy including getting some and return I don’t want to hurt anybody I just want to spread positivity, happiness and love

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left I would stop beating myself up for things that I couldn’t change and things I wish I could change
