Life & Work with Kai Kert of Cleburne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kai Kert.

Kai Kert

Hi Kai, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We started in 2021, I had come to recover from addiction to alcohol, During my recovery work I found myself back to being a cowboy, my roots since I was a kid, in 2022 we bought land and built my child hood dream a ranch. The ranch was established in 2022 and we have been building it since. We wanted to hold to the cowboy tradition and we started with raising Nigerian Dwarf Goats, We later came to realize we had to diversify and we have turned into a learning ranch and offer multitude off lessons, We also developed a bakery called Haven-ly baked Bakery. We realized in this industry we have to be able to “pivot”, and we are good at it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No it’s been a long road we are young but every year we learn something new,, and we have do what we call “pivot” or adjust, This year we we tride to include pig in our livestock, later we realized it was not the right choice, so we pivot, we re-evaluate and changed or focus back to our original livestock and service. We also decided to turn our ranch into a learning ranch and we offer goat yoga. In the few years we also lost our breeding cows, so now we are rebuilding that stock.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
