Today we’d like to introduce you to Prynce P.
Hi Prynce, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The Journey of an Independent Artist: Two Decades of Music, Meaning, and Motivation
Since 2002, my music has echoed through the airwaves of every major Dallas radio station. What began as a simple passion has grown into a lifelong mission to create music filled with meaning and purpose. Over the years, I’ve been blessed with milestones that have shaped both my artistry and my outlook on life.
From being featured in more than 83 magazines and articles worldwide to collaborating with legendary names, every chapter has been a step forward. In 2006, I recorded a song for Chuck Norris’s reality TV show, The World Combat League, which allowed my music to reach a global audience.
In 2013, a deeply personal poem titled “My Paradise” earned recognition from Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, The House of Representatives, and Amnesty International, reminding me how powerful words can be when they come from the heart.
By 2016, I released one of the biggest Hip-Hop compilation albums to come out of Dallas, featuring legends such as Paul Wall, Lil’ Flip, Spice 1, and K-Rino. A year later, I was featured on the cover of Javanan Magazine, the largest Persian publication in the world, which was a proud moment representing both my heritage and my city.
In 2018, I brought together Dallas icons like Mr. Pookie, Big Tuck, and Headkrack for one of the most talked-about cyphers in the city’s history. That same year, my music video “My Apology” received an award from the Native Film Festivals, further proving that authentic storytelling continues to resonate across cultures.
After countless interviews, one question is often asked: How did you make it in the music industry?
The answer is simple, and it all comes down to principles. Below are the ten rules I live by as an artist.
My 10 Principles for Success in Music:
Always recognize those you work with.
No one succeeds alone, and I make it a point to give credit where it’s due.
Go beyond 100%.
I don’t aim for perfection; I aim for passion. That extra effort makes all the difference.
Stay consistent and patient.
Growth takes time, and every great moment begins with persistence.
Stay in your lane.
I never waste energy putting others down. I focus on what I bring to the table.
Collaborate with purpose.
If I can’t connect with you outside the studio, I won’t work with you inside it.
Treat every song like it’s your first.
I keep the same hunger and love that I had when I started.
Keep it real.
I only talk about experiences and emotions I’ve truly lived. Real recognize real.
Do it for love, not money.
Music has always been my therapy, not a business plan.
Create with intention.
If a song doesn’t make someone laugh, think, or feel something, I’d rather not make it. My goal is always to make a difference.
Think legacy.
I want my music to age gracefully, so that twenty years from now I can still be proud of every song I’ve created.
Looking Ahead: The Next Chapter
Today, I’m channeling everything I’ve learned into my most personal project yet which is my upcoming album entitled Painted Shadows, set for release in 2026. This body of work explores the contrast between light and darkness, reflecting the balance between what we show the world and what we keep hidden. It’s a journey through growth, struggle, and self-discovery, told through sound and emotion.
My story isn’t just about success; it’s about staying grounded, creative, and authentic in a world that often rewards the opposite. Music has been my language, my therapy, and my connection to people across generations and cultures.
As long as I can keep inspiring, creating, and evolving, the journey continues.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has never been a smooth road. No one just shows up to hand you an award, put you on the radio, or feature you in a magazine. While friends were out partying, I was in the studio writing and recording. Whether it rained or snowed, I never missed a single session. I truly believe that if you stay consistent, hungry and dedicated, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My music has always been rooted in real-life events. I use Hip-Hop as a platform to speak for the voiceless. For example, my song “My Apology” is dedicated to Mother Earth. The video highlights the harm humanity has caused to the planet, and I wanted to use art as a way to inspire awareness and positive change.
Another song, “My Paradise,” focuses on how we’re destroying the future for the next generation. It begins by painting a picture of a beautiful paradise, then brings listeners back to reality showing how greed, war, and environmental neglect have turned that paradise into chaos. It’s a call to action for all of us to do better.
My song “Sons of Cyrus” pays tribute to King Cyrus the Great, the author of the first declaration of human rights. Through that song, I aim to connect history with today’s world and remind people of the importance of humanity, unity, and justice.
Overall, my goal is to use music not just for entertainment, but as a tool to educate, inspire, and give a voice to those who aren’t heard.
What matters most to you?
This is a simple yet complex question. I strive to make an impact as a human being, and I want to be remembered as someone who inspired, helped, and changed another person’s life for the better. Making the world a better place is what truly matters to me.
