Today we’d like to introduce you to La’ Terrius Bedford.
Hi La’ Terrius, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started when I was 9 years old. I was doing my own hair everyday for school. I had even started doing both of my little sisters hair. My mom was trusting me, lol. My big sister “ Bam Bam “ noticed how good I was getting so she bought some 99 cents Zuri braiding hair and asked me could I do her hair. ( Small box braids) After she left my house, she called me and was saying how people were stopping and asking who did her hair. She told me that she will let them know that I did her hair and she would help me get what I needed to do their hair, and that’s where it started. By 8th Grade, I had real Clients! Once I was in High school I got really good with keeping up with the latest trends. I was braiding hair in between classes, in the gym, in class, & after school. By Senior year I had made up in my mind I was going to go to cosmetology school. I had returning clients and great client referrals. The summer after graduation in 2009 I enrolled in the Texas barber cosmetology program. I had completed the program the following year in 2010. I received my cosmetology license and also a braiding license. I worked in a few shops for about 2-3 years & I received the name “ Touched by Terri “ from one of my clients named “ Big 6 “ he was a faithful client who had did 6 years in the feds lol. After that I took a break from being a stylist and worked a call center job. As the years Moved forward I picked up Clientele again And began doing hair from my home. And after an abundance of clients and realizing my Business had significantly grown Me and my wife, who is a barber ( Beast Blendz by Breezy ) Decided to get a suite And begin a joint business. I rebranded last year in January (2024) and changed Touched by Terri to Beauty By Terri & together we birthed a new business that we named Beauty & The Beast. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been easy, with Covid shutting down all businesses & the economy being in a financial strain. But me & my wife have been blessed to have a great clientele that’s able to keep us booked & busy!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed cosmetologist,specializing in braids of all kinds. What sets me apart From other stylist is my attention to detail & neat clean parts. Consistent slays and ability to do numerous styles.
What makes you happy?
Making my clients beautiful! A beautiful hairstyle can not only make you smile, but make you feel beautiful & raise your confidence in yourself.
