Exploring Life & Business with Kristen And Julie Sheeley of Tullia Sage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen And Julie Sheeley.

Hi Kristen and Julie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Our Story

Tullia Sage was born from a shared dream between a mother and daughter — to create a space that celebrates women, family, and community through thoughtfully curated collections. What started as an idea in a guest room quickly blossomed into a full-fledged boutique rooted in love, creativity, and connection.

We opened our doors in Old Town Lewisville with the vision of offering more than just beautiful products — we wanted to build a place where people feel seen, inspired, and part of something special. Every item we carry is handpicked from women-owned and family-owned businesses that share our values of quality, sustainability, and heart.

Over time, our boutique has grown into a vibrant community hub. From hosting family-friendly events and creative workshops to supporting local makers and other small businesses, we’ve made it our mission to pour back into the place that helped us grow.

As a mother-daughter team, we balance each other perfectly — Julie’s years of wisdom and creative eye paired with Kristen’s entrepreneurial spirit and modern approach make Tullia Sage a true reflection of both of us. Together, we’ve built something we’re deeply proud of- not just a store, but a space filled with warmth, intention, and genuine connection.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Has it been a smooth road?
Definitely not — but we wouldn’t trade the journey for anything. Like most small business owners, we’ve faced our fair share of challenges, from shifting market trends to learning the ins and outs of marketing, staffing, and managing inventory — often all at once.

One of the biggest hurdles has been balancing the many roles we play as a small, family-run business. We’re the buyers, merchandisers, event planners, social media managers, and, many times, the ones sweeping the floors and scrubbing the toilet at the end of the day. It can be exhausting, but it’s also incredibly rewarding to see how far we’ve come and how much heart goes into every decision we make.

There have also been emotional challenges — the uncertainty that comes with owning a business and the unique dynamics of working alongside family. But each obstacle has shaped us into stronger, more intentional business owners.

Through it all, our community has been our greatest source of encouragement. The support from our customers, fellow small business owners, and the relationships we’ve built in Old Town Lewisville remind us daily why we started Tullia Sage in the first place — to create something meaningful, personal, and full of heart.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Tullia Sage?
What truly sets us apart is the heart behind everything we do. We don’t just place products on shelves — we hand-select items with a story, a purpose, and a feeling. When someone walks into our store, our hope is that they feel welcomed, seen, and inspired. We care deeply about creating an environment that feels warm, inviting, and personal — the kind of place where you want to slow down, browse a while, and genuinely enjoy being there.

For readers who are new to us: we would love to welcome you in. Whether you’re looking for a gift, a new favorite outfit, or simply a place that feels inviting and joyful, we’d be honored to be part of your day.

What are your plans for the future?
As we look ahead, our focus is on continued growth rooted in community, creativity, and connection. We are excited to expand our brand in ways that allow us to bring even more intention and beauty to our customers’ lives.

One of our long-term goals is to develop our own in-house line — pieces that reflect the heart of Tullia Sage: thoughtful, elevated, and timeless, with comfort and motherhood in mind. We also hope to continue collaborating with local makers and women-owned businesses to keep creativity and community at the center of what we do.

We’re planning to grow our in-person experiences as well — more workshops, family-friendly celebrations, pop-ups, and events that bring people together. Creating memories has become one of our favorite parts of this journey, and we want to lean even deeper into that.

Most importantly, we want to continue showing up for the people who show up for us. Whether that means opening a second location someday, expanding our online presence, or simply deepening our connection here in Old Town Lewisville, our goal is the same: to remain a space where people feel welcomed, supported, and part of something special.
