Hi Areli, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi my name is Areli I am 26yrs old. I am mom to a 2yr old beautiful, smart little girl and I am also the owner of Fuzzybabesbeauty Wax Salon located in Arlington Tx. My career started right after high school at only 18yrs old. I graduated Sam Houston High School in 2017 and I was able to graduate with my cosmetology license. I did a career program my junior & senior year. The summer I graduated I knew I wanted to work in the beauty industry but did not know what my niche was. I loved makeup, hair and waxing. I always had a passion for making other women feel good about themselves. I applied at a few waxing salons and got hired at European wax center. I worked there for about 2yrs gaining experience and knowledge but I quickly realized this was not my final destination. I saw how much potential and growth this industry had so in march of 2019 I finally took the leap of faith and got my first suite. I created a business instagram and would post about my work, personality and business, I became really known for my Brazilian waxes. It quickly grew into my full time job. I gained a lot of followers and within the first 2 years in business I had grown so much I even had a waitlist of clients. I was working 6-7 days a week taking in 18-22 clients a day. In march of 2022 I found out I was pregnant and decided I needed to hire someone to take over my clients during my maternity leave. My younger sister Gaby actually followed my footsteps and was able to obtain her cosmetology license through the same program I did. She also grew an interest for waxing so I trained her my entire pregnancy and she became my first ever team member. In 2023 I realized we had grown into a team of 2 and needed a bigger space for our clients and business so in aug of 2023 I began the hunt for a bigger space and finally found a space in oct of 2023 and started the remodeling process and fully opened to the public in December of 2023. Fast forward to today we are 6 years in business and known for our amazing comfort waxing services, customer service, We were just ranked the #1 waxing salon in Arlington tx 76013 for 2025!
I am so proud of the business we have built and to be Arlingtons go to waxing salon is just the best feeling ever!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth ride. There have plenty of obstacles along the way but I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and obstacles are just a part of the journey!
For me personally processing becoming a mom took a huge mental toll on me. I went from working everyday running a business to having to step back and find my balance of motherhood and running a business. Being a mom and an entrepreneur is not an easy job. It truly took a lot of time to find a good balance. I now get to create my own hours and fully be a present mom for my daughter and show her that anything is possible when you truly commit to it,

Honestly social media has helped grow my business so much. I post consistently every single day on TikTok & Instagram. I have built an amazing community over my platforms and truly enjoy recording videos of my work and personality, I have found it helps our potential clients really get a feel of what its like to come into our salon and a get service from us. We have had so many people find us on social media and it’s just amazing seeing what a few videos can do.
