Community Highlights: Meet Abby; Tabitha King Roberts; Millsop of Mindful Wellness Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abby; Tabitha King Roberts; Millsop.

Hi Abby; Tabitha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Angel Koenig is a licensed counselor and the founder of Mindful Counseling in Denton, TX. In her practice, she kept seeing a pattern of people not only needing just mental health support, but who were seeking deeper forms of care. Together, her and her husband Eric Koenig created Mindful Wellness Center in 2022 as a place where emotional healing meets physical wellbeing, spiritual connection, and nervous system restoration.

Over the Summer in 2025, Abby King Roberts and Tabitha Millsop took over the day-to-day operations of Mindful Wellness Center. In August of 2025, they rebranded the website, updated the services, and launched a community connection program with events happening monthly.

In a re-brand meeting around that time, Abby had what she can only describe as a literal vision that became the map for the whole process. In her mind’s eye, she saw a sea of people in front of her and Tabitha, all seeking help. The pair looked at each other, wide-eyed, and Abby thought, “How are we going to help all these people?” Determined, the two rolled up their sleeves, ready to begin their work.

What happened next brought tears to Abby’s eyes and to Tabitha’s when she heard it recited. People in the crowd started stepping forward, “Let me through, please, let me though!” These weren’t people pushing their way to the front of the line to get help first; they were helpers themselves, asking: “How can I help?”

Abby and Tabitha laid glowing hands on these people until their hands began to glow too. Then, these helpers, healers, and heart-led humans turned back towards the crowd, with lines forming behind them, and this sea of people didn’t seem so overwhelming at all anymore.

This vision is the guiding wisdom for the mission here at MWC. Abby and Tabitha have created a space where those who long to see the world healed and would step up to do something about it can come be cared for too, so that they can live out their Good Work from a place of wholeness.

Because when the ones who hold the world are cared for, everything changes.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Initially, Mindful Wellness Center prided itself on being the only home of a sensory deprivation tank in Denton. About two years in, the float pod started to malfunction and went through a complete re-construction of its plumbing. After several rounds of refunding clients’ appointments, spending thousands of dollars on repairs, and finally, discovering that it was corroding the AC system and was going to require thousands more to keep it, we threw in the salty towel.

This decision came at the time of the re-brand, and we remember being so frustrated because it took us quite some time to be able to remove the energy drain that was the pod so that we could really start to build out the vision, starting with turning that room into a group space.

Thankfully, Tabitha found a local retreat center whose owner had experience with float pods, knew their problems, and how to fix them. He was willing to come take it off our hands and give it a good home. That felt like a good spring clean for the space itself and the energy. It gave us a nice blank slate to move forward.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Mindful Wellness Center is a sanctuary for the helpers, healers, and heart-led humans. Basically, what that means is that we exist to support those who help—whether that be other energy workers, first responders, counselors, nurses, caregivers, teachers, or anyone else who feels the suffering of the world in their heart and is passionate about making a difference. We know firsthand what it’s like to care so much, want to give deeply to others, and love fiercely even if we ourselves are running on empty. We have created a safe place for the ones who carry the weight of the world on their backs to set it down.

We’re here to pour back into the ones who pour their hearts out, so they can keep showing up without burning out. We have worked diligently to create a space where those who rarely pause for themselves can receive the care it takes to live out their Good Work in the world.

We offer many services like energy healing, sound therapy, herbal and wellness consulting, and more—all catered toward restoring balance, vitality, and a sense of renewed purpose in our clients.

We care so deeply about this because we truly believe that we can heal our community one nervous system at a time. When one person returns to wholeness—especially someone who cares so deeply—that ripple stretches out farther than we can even imagine. This is how world changes.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Abby: Have hope. And if you can’t hope yet, be willing to get curious.

Tabitha: Surrender. Don’t hold onto ideas, people, jobs, etc. that no longer serve you. Stay flexible.
