Today we’d like to introduce you to LABELS BAND.
Hi LABELS, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
LABELS started back in 2020 when Twin Brothers Braden Burgan and Taylor Burgan were seniors at L.D. Bell High School. They tried out for the basketball team but weren’t cut out for that unfortunately. The day they didn’t make try-outs for the team, they came home disappointed but surprised to see in there garage was a beat up guitar and a 3 piece drum set. What began as the two of them messing around with a couple of fuzz chords, quickly turned into something real. They didn’t have much equipment, but they had energy and that became the core of their sound.
Over the next couple of years, LABELS went through quite a few lineup changes while trying to figure out who fit the band and the style they were building. The twins met Tyler Waller at work, and even then they had a feeling he might eventually be part of what they were creating. The 3 of them kept in touch, talked music, and by 2024 Tyler officially joined as the singer, completing the lineup they’d been looking for.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No it has not. We never have expected it to be smooth but the music aspect of it all makes it a whole lot of fun and easier for us. Finding the right band mates is the hardest part for us. It’s mostly about being on the same schedule and finding what all the band mates have in common musically.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in energy at our shows. We want everyone who comes to be engaged on what’s happening on stage. We want everyone to feel free on expressing themselves through the music we make. If you don’t know us, we strive that you will by the end of the show!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Braden Burgan/ Taylor Burgan-Our parents would crank music very loud late into the night pumping their favorites artists like Blur, Super Furry Animals and My Bloody Valentine. We got a lot of our music inspirations through our parents.
