Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Renfroe.
Laura, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After having my second baby in January of 2023 I decided to leave my career as a postpartum nurse and stay home with my boys. While staying home and raising our children was an incredible blessing for our family, I yearned for more outside of mom life. Making charcuterie boards slowly but surely went from making them for friends and family to a full blown business. Charcuterie became my creative outlet and a way for me to express myself through food. It’s the calm in the chaos of my life with three boys. I have created boards, boxes, cups, and grazing tables for weddings, birthdays, funerals, open houses, business grand openings, bachelor parties, farmers markets, and so much more.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
An obstacle I’ve had to overcome along the way is balancing mom life with business. Time management is something I have really had to focus on while I navigate business and raising three rambunctious boys.I took some time off after the birth of third child this past summer, but I am back and better than ever!
As you know, we’re big fans of Touch of Honey Charcuterie. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a small catering business based out of Princeton, Texas, but service the entire North Texas area. We create custom Charcuterie Boxes, Platters, Cups, and Grazing Tables. We use seasonal fruits and vegetables and the tastiest selection of artisan cheeses, charcuterie meats, crackers, olives, nuts, and an assortment of sweets. Our boards serve anywhere from 2 to 20 people. Our grazing tables are built onsite and greenery is always added to elevate the look. Every single order is unique, customizable, and made with love.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I have learned to be patient with myself and give myself grace. Once my business took off, things were good and steady, but there are also periods of time where growth is slow. I have learned to not panic during these slow times and embrace that it is just a season. Sometimes that is where the biggest growth happens.
