Hi Galen, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Coral Heat started as a creative outlet, just sketches of people and the jewelry they might wear. I imagined these bold, confident characters who owned their space and energy. It was a small world built on personality and story. Over time, those drawings turned into real pieces. I began making jewelry for friends, and their excitement pushed me to keep going. Each design still carries that same energy though, blending emotion, texture, and a sense of individuality. I like to say Coral Heat started as a story, and now it’s part of yours.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think of every challenge as something to learn from that helps you grow. The excitement of getting Coral Heat out into the world and learning how to project my voice through social media has definitely been a journey. I’m still finding that balance between creativity and connection, and that’s okay.
Finding and sourcing the right materials has also been a big part of the process. I wanted Coral Heat to be a brand worth investing in, with quality pieces that tell a story. When I first started, it was a lot of trial and error; figuring out which metals worked best, what materials weren’t worth the time, and how different stones react with skin. It was all a fun learning experience that shaped both the brand and me as a designer.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m Galen Orosco, and I design and make all the pieces you see from Coral Heat. Coral Heat is about self-expression through craftsmanship. I want people to wear something that reflects who they are: confident, curious, and authentic.
The brand is built around quality and individuality, using materials like gold-filled, silver-filled, sterling silver, and stainless steel that are hypoallergenic and made to last. Each piece features genuine gemstones and is created with attention to how it feels as much as how it looks.
What sets Coral Heat apart is that everything is made with intention. Every part of the design is more than just jewelry, but rather something that evokes confidence and connection to you and your story.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was always a kid full of creativity and curiosity. My sister would get issues of Cosmo or Vogue, and once she was done with them, I’d cut them up to make little fashion collages in a notebook. It was my way of building worlds out of style and color, long before I ever thought about jewelry. Looking back now, you could say that was really the spark that drew me toward design and storytelling.
