Today we’d like to introduce you to Josue Martinez.
Josue, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2020, when COVID first hit, my family members and I were part of the “non-essential” group of people during the height of the virus; we were unemployed, but still had bills to pay and families to provide for. During this time period, a big tornado had swept through North Dallas and a family friend’s neighbor had lost their brick mailbox. I was originally partnered up with a family member, and we had the opportunity to fix that mailbox. This single project helped to flourish our business; never did we expect for that mailbox to open so many doors.
In 2023, my family member and I split due to having different views and that’s when I created Tesoro Property Solutions Inc. Tesoro means “treasure” in Spanish, referring to something valuable or precious. I truly believe that every home is a treasure and is an extension of who you are. I love bringing people’s visions to life and it is truly an honor to be chosen to do that on every project.
Now, in 2025, we have grown from smaller handyman projects to conducting larger residential and commercial projects. We have recently completed projects such as expanded residential living spaces and customized patios. As far as commercial projects, we have worked with the City of Benbrook and the Southwest Fort Worth Library.
We look forward to the opportunities that 2026 will bring!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but I would not trade my experience for anything. Being in the renovation business at the current age of 30, there have been clients and partners in the past who had tried to take advantage of me and my services due to my young age. I’ve experience a lot of skepticism from others – being told I’m too young to do a good job, that there is no way I can be experienced enough to take on certain projects, and I don’t know how to grow a successful small business in such a short time.I’ve received countless “no’s” and have lost plenty of bids in the past, but that has only helped me to become more determined to prove myself.
Over the years, I’ve learned to manage my time and uphold my values as I’ve grown. I’ve learned to develop myself as a leader, and to not only provide excellent service for my clients, but also to look out for my team.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Spotify is definitely always playing in the background to help keep the tempo going throughout the day. We also love using GoodNotes for our meeting notes (I would also recommend it for any note taking outside of work since you can create different folders and always add onto them and print them out).
Canva and CapCut are other programs we use for our social media needs. The weather and calendar app are also constantly being used – apps that are usually overlooked, but are HUGE factors in our day-to-day scheduling and weekly planning.
Outside of those things; you can find me reading about whats going on in the world on the news app or reddit forums. Watching or hearing biographies is a favorite past time of mine as well.
