Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Ifa Bunnmi of Carrollton

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ifa Bunnmi. Check out our conversation below.

Ifa, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
In the first 90 minutes of my day, I focus on setting the tone for my mind, body, and spirit. I begin with prayer and meditation to center myself and connect with God. Then, I speak affirmations over my life to align my mindset with my purpose. I also spend time in what I call my ‘morning messages’ with my spirit team, it’s a sacred practice where I tune into the energy of the day and receive insight and intentions for how to move through it. Those first moments are my foundation, they keep me balanced, intentional, and spiritually aligned before I engage with the world.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Ifa Bunnmi a priestess, minister, spiritual life coach, and entrepreneur dedicated to helping women heal, evolve, and step boldly into their power. As the founder of The Art of Loving Myself and the creator of the Healed Hottie and EmpowerHer Tribe communities, I blend faith, feminine energy, and practical wisdom to guide others toward wholeness and purpose. I have a podcast called “ The Healed Hottie” on Spotify . Through my spiritual coaching, events, and online presence, I create sacred spaces where women can reconnect with spirit, embrace their authenticity, and manifest lives filled with confidence, connection, and divine alignment.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My community saw me before I saw myself. It was the people around me… my friends, my sisters, and the women in my circles, who recognized my light even when I doubted it. They encouraged me to show up, to step into the things I love, and to share my gifts with the world. Having people who see your light is transformative because they remind you of your worth, your potential, and your unique purpose. They reflect back to you the parts of yourself that you may not yet fully recognize, giving you the courage to embrace your path and shine fully.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering showed me that I am resilient, that no one else has the power to truly break me, and that I am the only one who can define or settle the limitations in my life. For me, shame was one of the hardest forms of suffering, but when I reclaimed my power in those moments, I felt a fire ignite within me, a strength and determination that I carry with me to this day. It’s that fire that allows me to keep running my own marathon, no matter the obstacles.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is absolutely real. I learned a long time ago that true freedom comes from authenticity. For me, this ties back to overcoming shame, realizing that there’s nothing more powerful than showing up as your whole, unapologetic self. Living authentically is the purest form of liberation, and the only way to move through this world with peace and confidence is to simply be who you truly are.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think the part of my legacy that will be most understood is my “twerking priestess” phase a divine time of expression for me. Many people don’t realize that we all need moments for character development and personal growth as we evolve spiritually. My journey has been lifelong, beginning from birth, and entering adulthood didn’t change my purpose. I simply had to learn how to navigate adulthood while continuing to live fully in alignment with my purpose. That balance of joy, self-expression, and spiritual alignment is what I hope people will remember most.
