Bruce Foye Jr of Temple on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Bruce Foye Jr. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Bruce, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
My normal day starts out by getting up early about 7 or 8 am and getting everything together then driving down to Feed My Sheep and volunteering my time for the homeless and the needy from all walks of life where they see people not problems. Then I go to Workforce solutions of Texas and apply to jobs and talk to the amazing employees there. Then I enjoy my time at the park where I apply to different castings in the area to keep my Acting career moving forward.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Bruce Foye Jr and I am an Actor and Voiceover artist now residing in Texas. My brand is an extremely deep voice you may not believe is real! But you will have to hear it for yourself and see if you do believe it. I am so unique that everyone questions it even when they meet me in person but it makes for some of the funniest and most entertaining engagement wherever I go. There are many projects you can see me on specifically on reelshort and dramabox.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
Who taught me the most were the men in my life that were my friends dad’s. They were all older men that had went through serious trials and hard times and taught me how to be strong and sturdy and to have dignity, Honor, Respect and Integrity. To be a good man regardless of what the world threw at you and to stand your ground on your morals and to at least stand for something even if you were the only one standing for it.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have been many times I have almost wanted to give up and I have been very close to it before. Mainly all the times I have been homeless. I went from Ohio to Georgia not knowing anyone at all and just making my way and finding jobs in the entertainment industry and normal 9 to 5s. Then that all fell apart with the strike so I went back to Ohio for a short period of time and almost gave up but I decided that I was better than that and I could go far so I moved to California where I stayed for a year working in the entertainment industry and other 9 to 5 jobs until it became too expensive and unbearable. Then I thought about giving up and heading back to Ohio. However something in me just won’t let me stop. So I moved down here to Texas to give it another shot. I’m currently living in my car but I’m making head way into a good job and I have done some good jobs here already. As I see it I’m only truly a failure if I give up. I’m just not a quitting kind of man.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
What you see is what you get. There are alot of people that wear masks and portray something or someone they are not. I hate masks and I hate lying so I am exactly who I say I am and I will always be the same person no matter how many times you see me. I don’t see any reason to be anything other than Authentic it’s just not my style.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand that nothing my senses pick up are real. What is deep in my soul is that everything I experience is nothing but a fabrication of my mind. What I mean is that try to imagine reality without any of your senses sight, hearing, taste, touch, or smell. Try to imagine anything without any senses at all. No one can because your senses make up your entire existence. So everything that your senses pick up is nothing bit a fabrication of your mind and you can only use those senses to a certain extent because there are things beyond those senses that you cannot pick up on. So what is real when everything you know is a fabrication that is limited by perception of those very same senses?
