Today we’d like to introduce you to Blessed By Vaztin.
Hi Blessed By, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story really began long before I ever knew I was building a career. I started braiding hair at 15 while living in California with my Dad—my cousins had a booming braiding salon, and every time I visited them, they poured into me. I didn’t realize then that those moments were planting the seeds for my purpose.
When I moved back to Dallas, life challenged me in ways that forced me to grow. I had a gift, but I didn’t yet have the confidence to claim it. I questioned myself a lot—who I was, what I was capable of, and whether my talent was worthy of being taken seriously. Everything shifted the moment I created Blessed By Vaztin. That decision didn’t just launch a business; it opened a new version of me.
My craft became my teacher.
The challenges sharpened me.
The victories reminded me that I was chosen for this path.
Every client who sat in my chair helped me see my own purpose more clearly. ( I love them SO much!)
I finally found my lane in natural-looking weaves, wigs, and custom units for all hair types. But what truly made me fall in love with this work were the real relationships built in my chair. People trust me with their stories, their highs, their lows, their special moments—and I got to be a part of all of it while creating something beautiful for them!
Since my last interview with you guys, I’ve grown in ways that still humble and push me. Our last interview I had just launched a full product line—extensions, wigs, lace glues, removers, sprays, mousses, and natural growth oils—because I wanted to provide everything my clients need from start to finish. Recently, I’ve stepped fully into exclusive styling for special events—weddings, birthdays, galas, photoshoots, and high-pressure environments where detail and trust matter most.
One of my proudest moments was seeing my work reach the TV screen. Being able to say “my hair is on a TV show” is something younger me could’ve never imagined, but it’s confirmation that trusting my gift was the right choice.
Today, Blessed By Vaztin is more than a service. It’s a space where people feel seen, valued, and taken care of. Every part of my journey, even the hard parts, led me exactly where I’m supposed to be!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth road? Definitely not! *Chuckling* My journey came with bumps, detours, and a whole lot of moments that tested me. Honestly, the hardest part wasn’t the work — it was me learning how to trust myself. I had the talent, but my confidence didn’t always match it. I questioned myself a lot… “Am I good enough? Do I really deserve this?” That kind of thinking can slow you down before you even start.
Life outside of the brand wasn’t easy either. I went through emotional setbacks, financial stress, personal losses — all while still showing up to make other people feel their best. It’s a crazy feeling trying to uplift others when you’re barely holding yourself together. But those moments taught me strength I didn’t even know I had.
I overworked myself, said yes too much, undercharged, poured into everybody, and ignored my own boundaries because I wanted to please people. I had to learn the business side, the mindset side, and the self-respect side the hard way. None of that was smooth.
But every tough season grew me.
Every challenge sharpened me.
Every “I don’t know how I’m gonna get through this” moment built the version of me people see now.
So no, it hasn’t been easy. But those rough parts gave my brand soul. They gave me purpose. And they turned Blessed By Vaztin into something real — something built on faith, resilience, and a whole lot of growth. And I’m grateful for every part of it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a weaveologist, but honestly… what I do goes way deeper than hair. I specialize in natural-looking installs, custom units, and extensions that blend so well people can’t tell what’s yours and what’s added. That’s my thing — making it look real, not “installed.”
But what I’m most proud of is the experience behind the service. When people sit in my chair, they get more than a style. They get someone who listens, pays attention to every detail, and cares about how they feel when they walk out. I don’t rush, I don’t do cookie-cut styles, and I don’t treat clients like numbers. I give people hair that matches their personality, their lifestyle, and their confidence level.
I’m also the creator of a full product line — bundles, wigs, glues, removers, sprays, mousses, oils — all designed so my clients feel taken care of even when they’re not in my chair. I wanted them to have everything they need start to finish, with ingredients that protect their natural hair under the style.
What sets me apart is that I put my whole heart into what I do. I don’t just install hair — I build real connections. People open up to me, trust me with their special days, their struggles, their big transitions… and I honor that. I pay attention to energy, I pray over my work, and I make sure everybody leaves feeling better than they came.
Blessed By Vaztin is known for the look — but it’s remembered for the feeling. That’s what keeps people coming back. That’s what makes me different.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk has pretty much been the theme of my whole journey — even when I didn’t realize it. I’m not the type to jump off cliffs just to say I did it, but I am the type to bet on myself when it counts, even if it scares me.
One of the biggest risks I ever took was deciding to stop playing small and actually take my gift seriously. At the time, I didn’t have all the answers. I didn’t feel fully ready. I just knew staying where I was didn’t feel right anymore. Starting Blessed By Vaztin was me choosing myself before I even fully believed in myself, and that was a huge risk.
And I feel like a lot of people are in that same space — knowing you’re meant for more, but scared to make that first real move. Trust me, I get it.
For me, one of the hardest but most rewarding risks was honoring my value. Learning that not everyone is your client — and that’s okay. Choosing to work with people who respect your craft, your prices, your time… that’s a risk. It comes with fear, with doubts, with quiet days. But it also comes with alignment, peace, and the right people finding you.
Launching my product line was another leap of faith. When you put your name on something and say, “This represents me,” that’s not just business — that’s vulnerability. And anybody building something from scratch knows exactly what that feels like.
What I’ve learned — and what I want anybody reading this to hear — is that risk isn’t about being fearless. It’s about moving anyway. It’s about trusting that you’re not crazy for wanting more. It’s about believing that you are worthy of the rooms you’re scared to walk into.
Every level in my life came from one uncomfortable choice I finally stopped avoiding. And if you’re reading this, you probably have a choice like that waiting on you, too.
Bet on yourself. Even if your voice is shaking. Especially then.
