Today we’d like to introduce you to Sushma Malhotra.
Hi Sushma, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I had always been a community service-oriented person and had seen my parents helping the people in need. I am not sure how and when it all started as I was always involved in different group activities.
My personal journey started when I had a difficult marriage and stayed in the relationship for my two kids and finally left for the sake of my kids. The support I received during that time from my family and different organizations, changed my whole perspective and I now believe that empowerment can be achieved from financial independence.
Any client that seeks help during time of crises, is always questioning that why they are the victims but how one can help them to complete their journey from victim to survivor is what matters. There is nothing more fulfilling in life than helping another person and seeing them start a new life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always bumps along the road and how things pan out when one has the determination to be resilient and work hard. There have been cases where nothing seems to help and that could be due to the overall system or lack of sufficient funding but I have witnessed courage and determination that has persevered.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Professionally, I have been working in the banking industry for over 40 years. I wanted to join the medical field or may be an organization like FBI during my younger days but banking has been my life till date, and I enjoy what I do.
I help small business owners and real estate investors who need guidance and seek help with their investment. I am proud to say that I have some loyal customers who really value the professional relationship and I have been able to help them grow exponentially. The satisfaction of being a part of their success story and wealth is gratifying.
Any big plans?
I want to continue to grow in my profession and help the community in all aspects whether it is through my knowledge in the banking industry or volunteering for different organizations.
I would like to see that the work that is being done to help victims of domestic violence is able to create awareness in the community and one day eradicated from this globe. At this time it is like a pandemic and there is no end in sight but now more and more people are aware of its damaging effects on not just the abused but the children too.
