Hi Michael and Kandi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

Meet Michael: the one always bihind the scenes making the visions truly come to life’
With an impressive 25 years of experience in the hairstyling industry, Kandi has established herself as a prominent stylist specializing in blonding and extension services! In 2009, she opened the doors to Beauty Boutique, her salon nestled in the vibrant heart of our downtown historic district. Surrounded by charming antique stores and eclectic boutiques, Kandi recognized a unique opportunity to cater specifically to men’s grooming needs, leading to the inception of The Bearded Beast!
Launched in 2016, The Bearded Beast is a distinguished gentleman’s salon where clients can indulge in traditional hot shaves while enjoying a complimentary beer or whiskey. What began with four barber chairs has now expanded to eight, reflecting the growing demand and Michael, Kandi and their team of specialized barbers commitment to excellence in men’s grooming. In 2020 we opened our second location in the up and coming mineral wells Texas where the historic crazy water hotel and Baker hotel were being completely renovated! This is when Micheal decided to change his career path from a personal trainer to a barber. He attended a barber school and now holds his license!
At The Bearded Beast, we are passionate about helping men look and feel stately. Beyond top-notch grooming services, we offer an exclusive men’s boutique featuring distinctive American-made items, many crafted right here in Texas. Our bespoke offerings include custom-designed boots, where clients can create their own unique style, as well as tailored jackets and standout statement pieces.
Located in the heart of the cutting horse capital of the world, we celebrate the rich western heritage that continues to thrive. Kandi and her team are deeply inspired by western fashion, which has made a lasting impression globally. Whether at home or abroad, the essence of western style remains a significant influence in our lives, and we take pride in integrating that into our services and products!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course not always smooth. We have had some difficulties when trying to keep staff on some brief moments. Not often, but we opened our second location in the middle of covid and that was a little difficult. I would say that the passion behind our small business and the clients and staff we get to do business and life with definitely out ways the difficulties! We love our business, we deeply appreciate our team of crazy talented barbers and that makes it all worth it!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Kandi holds a license in cosmetology in which she specializes in blonding services and extension services. I’m passionate about these two more than the other services I do! I can’t really say why I just have always enjoyed them more. Extensions I think more because my clients can see the biggest differences and most of the time it helps their confidence so much! That is what it’s all about for me. My ability to make them feel confident!! The relationships I have built with my clients over the years are untouched. I har walked through all parts of life with them! Weddings, kids, losses, sickness, hard days, divorces! I want to be a light to them when I can! I want to celebrate them when it’s time!
Michael – I strive to provide my clientele with a true experience, paying attention to detail whether I’m doing a basic haircut or a full straight razor shave. I enjoy the conversation in building relationships with my clients. What are most proud of is the entire experience that a man gets when he comes to my barbershop I want each and every client to feel better when they leave then when they walked in

We love to work with and collab with others ! We bring in other brands and do private invite parties and open to the public events while working along side of other stately entrepreneurs!
