Meet Ruby Lopez of Burleson TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruby Lopez .

Ruby Lopez

Hi Ruby, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started taking photos about seven years ago, mostly as a hobby and for my family. My business didn’t officially begin until 2021, right after I moved to Texas while pregnant and in my last trimester. During that time, I began serving at my local church, which helped me meet new people and open new doors. With the encouragement of my husband and the support of that community, I finally decided to turn my hobby into a business—and that’s how my photography journey truly began.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a completely smooth road. Moving to a state where I didn’t know anyone, while being a stay-at-home mom and wife, meant I had to push myself to meet new people, learn my new city, and create connections from scratch. On top of that, I’ve had to schedule clients around both my own routine and my family’s needs. Balancing sessions, editing, and business tasks while still being present for my loved ones has definitely been a challenge. And if you know me, you know how incredibly important family time is, so learning to juggle both roles without sacrificing that has been one of my biggest struggles so far. But even with the challenges, I wouldn’t trade where I’m at or how far I’ve come for anything in the world.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a photographer who truly loves it all—I love capturing love, laughter, sentimental moments, and anything that feels fun and genuine. My absolute favorites, though, are couples, weddings, and births. There’s something so beautiful about new beginnings and being trusted to witness and capture those moments. I think that’s exactly what people know me for.

I’ve been told that my photos feel like storytelling and that you can really see the happiness behind them. I believe that’s what sets me apart. I don’t just take photos to take them—I watch, observe, and let moments unfold naturally. I interact with my clients in a way that helps them loosen up, feel comfortable, and almost forget I’m there, so the love and emotion can show on its own.

One of my proudest moments was photographing my friend’s labor. It lasted three long and exhausting days—especially for her—but being there with her through it all and getting to document something so powerful made every minute worth it.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m always open to working with new people, and I absolutely love collaborating. If you’re interested in creating something together, I’d love to chat and see what we can dream up.

The best way to support my business is definitely through word of mouth—sharing your experience with friends and family means the world to me. And of course, a follow, like, or share on social media is always appreciated too!
