Today we’d like to introduce you to Shambrika Burnley.
Hi Shambrika, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started in the financial services industry when I was 18 years old. I was brought in by my late mother “Jag” She introduced me to a tax partner a couple years later, where I was taught taxes and was able to utilize my skillset in a more lucrative way. Fast forward working with him for 10 years was very hard. I had my money stolen, lies told on me and just all the craziness that comes in this industry. Finally I stepped out on my own and learned to build teams. This was still hard as I was running into so many people that just wanted to use my knowledge and leave. This made me do more research to protect myself. I ran into a company called SBA. They literally gave me a platform to do what I do. Preparer Development. I now own the licensing to my own software and Im able to scale other peoples tax businesses to the next level. I take those interested in the tax industry and teach them, tax pros who are struggling in growing the business, and those that simply want to go next level and want to own software. I have created 6 figure earners just in their first year of ever doing taxes. I have scaled tax companies into million dollar companies just in their 2nd year of business. I have recieved awards for producing more funded returns than anyone in my category of prep dev. My first year we produced 2000 returns, second year 6000 and in my thrid year we are on track to produce 20000 funded returns. I was recently deemed “MISS PIPELINE’ by the rapper montana 700 himself.
This year I sent 20 kids to college all from my scholarship fund RS Financial Grooming Scholarships deemed “JAGS KIDS” all funded by me. Hopefully I can get people to join in next year.
This year has by far been the best ever! I made over 4 million dollars as I chased the Knowledge and Not the money all while maintaining my integrity, ethics, and morals.
GOD has really Blessed me!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth or simple journey. One of the hardest parts was realizing that some people only wanted access to what I knew, not to actually grow with me. When you’re good at something, folks start treating your skills like a public resource, and I had to learn very quickly how to set boundaries and protect the work I’ve put in.
Other obstacles would be people parting ways to become my competition (but I eat competition for lunch). It’s part of the game, and that’s exactly why you can’t stop growing and getting better. It used to bother me, especially when it was people I helped or trained. But now I take it as confirmation that I’m doing something worth duplicating. And honestly, it pushed me to sharpen my systems, elevate my standards, and make sure I’m always two steps ahead.
None of it has been easy, but every challenge has made me sharper, more confident, and more intentional about how I move.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I run RS Financial Grooming, and my work centers around helping tax professionals build real, sustainable businesses using the R&S cloud-based tax software. On the technical side, I support them with everything from secure filing to multi-office management, advanced reporting, and a smoother client experience. But honestly, the software is just the foundation — what I really do is help people grow.
As a Service Bureau, I’ve helped people turn what would’ve been a small seasonal hustle into six-figure and even million-dollar companies. New preparers come in with zero experience, and I walk them through an entirely new, lucrative career path. A lot of my first-year people hit six figures right out the gate, and I don’t take that lightly. I pour into people for real — skills, mindset, structure, everything.
So yes, I provide the software, but I also build the pipeline. I train, I mentor, I support, and I stay invested in their long-term success. Watching people build generational income with something they never even knew was possible — that’s the part that keeps me going. What you’re seeing is just the continuation of the greatness we’ve already started.
Any big plans?
I plan to retire form the actual tax world after this year and fully focus on the service bureau after that, Ill be passing all my business to my sub service bureaus to keep building the PIPELINE of professional preparers. I love what I do and I just dont have any plans of slowing down anytime soon.
