Keri Ramos of Grand Prairie on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Keri Ramos. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Keri, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I’m not a snooze type person. Some would say I’m a morning person. When my alarm goes off, I immediately get out of bed and take a shower. More often than not, I’m awake before the alarm. I don’t really understand people who sleep late, but that’s just me. I like to be ready for whatever the day may bring. Part of my morning routine (besides getting ready) includes taking my dog out. She absolutely won’t go outside unless you’re with her, so that takes some time. And then sitting at my kitchen bar; drinking a protein shake and checking my emails. I like to respond to anything I’m able to before I get to work. It makes me feel like there is less on my plate and less overwhelmed. Before heading to work, I always make sure my bed is made. Yes, I’m a “make my bed” type person. My entire home always has to look staged like HGTV. A good looking, clean home just really makes me feel better and creates my mood for day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Well I’m Keri, and I am a Regional Master Distributor for a worldwide brand, Librex. My husband and I import the Ritello Ultimate Purification System here in the states for our consumers. The Ritello is a known medical device, certified to purify the air in your home. It is doctor recommended for anyone suffering from allergies, asthma, or any upper respiratory disease. With HSA and FSA approving coverage of the machine, we are able to offer our customers many purchase options. Not only do we distribute an amazing product that we believe wholeheartedly every household needs; but we provide opportunity throughout our community! We are always accepting self motivated individuals into our program. Many of the people who walk through our doors are people who have never been given a proper opportunity before. Many of the people really just need a second chance. These people are hungry; self motivated; want more for themselves and their family. Do I ever get lazy people come through? Sure! More today than ever. It seems today’s generation is wanting to clock in and clock out with nothing getting done. Come to me if you’re looking for real opportunity!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
I would have to give credit to my grandmother for this one. She is literally the strongest woman I know! Not just in work, but in personal life as well. I grew up with my grandparents. I watched my Grandma go and go and go! It seemed like she never got tired. In the mornings she would drop off my sister and I, go to work, pick us up, make dinner and clean the kitchen every single day! On the weekends, she would cook breakfast, and we would make sure the house was clean. Our home was always clean growing up; no dishes in the sink, no unhung clothes, made beds and clean floors. Not to mention, she took my sister and I everywhere we asked to go. She never stopped, and she taught me what taking care of your family should look like.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Wow, ok. I want to say yes here, but haven’t we all felt like that? There are multiple times I’ve just wanted to give up; to get a “regular” job. BUT, a regular job would not allow me the freedom to create my own schedule. It wouldn’t allow for me to go to school events with my daughter, sporting events, or even picking her up from school. There are obviously good days and bad days with being self employed, but giving up is not an option.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Ha! This one is funny. Is anyone’s public version of themselves real? With social media, we all show the world the version of ourselves we want to be! Only the most perfect photos are posted. I tell my husband it’s all staged! The majority of my postings are when I am glammed; hair, make-up and dressed. However, when I’m home, I would say it’s more like pajamas and hair clips. Don’t get me wrong! I’d love to be the one who always dresses up and has my hair done; however that’s just not how it works out sometimes.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I believe my story would be simple. I would hope people say I was a good, hard working mom that provided the best life I could to my daughter. That I was always there. That I helped people when I could; even when I couldn’t take care of myself. That I was a good wife, sister and friend.
