We recently had the chance to connect with Alix Hogu and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Alix, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day consists of a 20 minute meditation session, a prayer and a good workout at the gym. This has been my routine for the last 15 years. I’m a firm believer that everything starts with your energy. So, getting your mind right first thing in the morning, sets the tone for the rest of the day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Alix and I’m the Founder and CEO of Five Diamond Fitness & Wellness, a concierge style fitness and wellness boutique fitness studio. Our wellness approach, offers customized fitness plans, through personal training, different modalities of holistic therapeutic massages, and customized nutrition counseling. We are also a leader in providing a variety of corporate wellness programs.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Being a spiritual person, I would have to give credit to my relationship with GOD. All of my personal growth has been attributed to my personal connection to my faith. I’m a very reflective person. Therefore, I’m constantly thinking about how to be a better version of myself, as well as how to use my talents to improve my surroundings.
When did you last change your mind about something important?
About two years ago. It is very easy for me to change my mind about something that was once important to me, if it no longer aligns with my purpose. Over the years, I’ve gained a little more wisdom through my own personal experiences. Nowadays, I tend to lean more toward what feeds my soul. I guess that comes with growth.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I’m a very private person, but my belief is whoever you are in public should be the same person you are in private. So the answer is an affirmative yes. I don’t think I can be anyone else but myself in any environment or situation. Authenticity is a very liberating feeling.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
The fact that I’m not really big on focusing too much on leaving a legacy. Instead, I pour my heart into impacting lives as much as I can. If this leaves a legacy, then great, but my sole purpose is to be able to make a difference while I can. No legacy required, no accolades needed, just genuine impact.
