We’re looking forward to introducing you to Phillip Wolf. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Phillip, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Creating. Hands down, time is not a concept when I’m creating pretty much anything. I think whenever you’re able to tap into the kid in yourself it’s absolutely freeing. I don’t think we’re ever met to stop being kids, we just gradually forget as life takes it’s course… Whenever I’m crafting a song or thinking of a story, I feel most like I did before I had to care about life.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Phillip Wolf, I’m a Filipino-American singer-songwriter originally from San Antonio, TX. I make hip-hop, pop, and R&B, and my style kind of lives in the space between sharp lyricism and melodic storytelling. Over the years I’ve had the chance to be featured on festivals like Mala Luna and SXSW, and I’ve got a to work with amazing artists like Fresco Trey, Dizzy Wright, and Westside Boogie.
In addition to a multi release blueprint in place for 2026, I’ve built strong foundation in community by curating events like Last Friday, Tuesday Blend, and recently UnCharted, currently taking place at StarBase in Las Vegas, NV. Overall, the focus lies within creating art rooting in authenticity and experiences that represent the culture I come from.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That it wasn’t good enough to just be myself. As a kid, I used to think I had to mold into whatever box people expected you to fit in at the time. I didn’t fully believe in my voice or perspective. As I got older, I found my identity and unapologetically owned it.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Several. I think relationships are pivotal in this industry. It can be a lonely road so naturally you seek camaraderie. When those relationships wither or when disagreements cloud the vision, it can be heartbreaking to process. It feels like a huge set back in a grind that felt so good, and at those times, I’ve found myself in very dark eras where I had to make tough decisions for myself.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
That I never forget. If I’m wronged, I take that action into account and move appropriately until I feel otherwise is necessary. But in that same breath, if you treat me with kindness or ride for me in any way, you have someone that will never forget that for life. I’m someone you can call in favors to if you have ever shown me love.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Working. Time is precious. 10 years is honestly nothing in the grand scheme of things. If I had proof in 10 years it was quits, that’s my cue to travel the world and nonstop create. No reason to waste anymore time.
