Donato Ricci of Dallas-Forth worth on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Donato Ricci and have shared our conversation below.

Donato , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My first 90 minutes of my day start with 8 minutes of breath work in bed, 12 minutes of stretch.

Espresso….. and some news reading for 30 minutes, then 45 to 60 minutes in the gym… fast pace walk light weights.

Some room there for kisses and hugs to the wife and my son.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Ricci hospitality is a consultation firm, events management.

From cooking classes to event planning and organization to consultation and development of restaurant concepts.

From training to permits to systems set up and SOP’s.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
An artist…. That believed in love at first sight.

Now my artistry is taking less of my time as action is predominant on my daily life.

LOVE…. It’s a life time work… compromise and respect.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Endurance…and the realization that you are stronger than you believe.

It showed me that I can endure a lot… and that power made me keep on pushing and never give up.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The industry has locked what was supposed to be an experience for everybody to only the few privileged.

Hospitality and good food should be share with everybody and everybody deserve to experience, so that people can walk to world by having example of the highest standard of service and great quality products, but unfortunately the economy has transformed this type of experience to accessible to only the few privilege that can afford it ….

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel in peace near water or in a garden… both places take me back home.

The island of Sicily surrender by water… and the some of my happiest memories as a child in the garden with my grandpa working the vegetables and fruits.
