My name is Duwayne Brown, professionally known as Dooney “Da Barber.” I am a proud native of the Oak Cliff community in the southern sector of Dallas, Texas—an environment that shaped my resilience, discipline, and passion for uplifting others.
I am a State of Texas Licensed Barber & Instructor Practitioner, Motivational Speaker, Master of Ceremony, Tonsorial Hip-Hop Artist, and the owner of Dooney’s Barber & Beauty Academy, located at 4333 Gannon Ln. #115, Dallas, Texas. In 2025, I was honored at the CT Barber Expo Grammys Awards, continuing my legacy as a leader in the barbering industry.
With over 30 years of entrepreneurship, I have owned and operated multiple barber and beauty salons across the DFW metroplex. Through my academy and mentorship, I have trained countless students to become Texas Class A licensed barbers and beauty professionals, helping create job opportunities and long-term careers throughout the community and industry.
Service is at the heart of my mission. I give back through free haircuts, back-to-school drives, and community support programs serving the elderly, veterans, and the homeless. My work has earned numerous achievement awards and recognition on multiple local news outlets across Texas.
I am a proud member of The Franchise Initiative, organized by Carlos White under the leadership of Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, expanding entrepreneurial education and opportunities in the city.
My career has taken me nationwide as an educator and performer at major Barber & Beauty trade shows. I served as a clipper platform artist and Ambassador for Team Oster, and I am now partnered with the Heiniger Professional Clipper Company of Switzerland—continuing to represent global excellence under the leadership of David Guiren and Greg Peterson.
