Today we’d like to introduce you to Digi Thorne.
Hi Digi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I emerged from the shadows in 2020. Remember that thing that happened then? Yeah, so I was in a couple bands at the time but we were told not to hang out and jam, so I sealed myself away and figured, hey, I have all of these drum machines, samplers, and synthesizers… Why don’t I just make my own thing? I was going insane. I had to do it.
I spent years in the lab perfecting my debut album, “In The Machine”. It was an amalgamation of all the things I was taking in at the time. From gritty industrial to underground rave music to proto-punk. The whole album felt like a collage of electronic ooze that burst out of my soul and into the sound waves. It was my own personal monster. It was ALIVE!
After the release of “In The Machine”, I was caught up in the darkness and engulfed by the moon. I had somehow trapped myself in evil night time activities. It sucked me up, gnawed on my bones and spit me out. I was imprisoned by my own desires for a couple years when I had multiple events that led up to my re-awakening.
I have rid myself of the nightly sins and am back in the lab creating a new experiment. I have been back DJing around DFW and have been showcasing my new set on stages throughout the metroplex. People have been telling me my music has changed, but it all seems like a reflection of where I’m at in life. It’s still me. It always will be.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course things haven’t been easy. Having to train three-hundred thirty-three bats to do my dirty work on stage is always a challenge. Everyone knows that.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a musician and a visual artist. Nothing more, nothing less
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I always encourage everyone to go to digimechanoid.com and see for yourself what’s going on. Who knows, maybe we’ll cross paths?
