Today we’d like to introduce you to Raul Rivero.
Hi Raul, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been in the communication industry for more than 35 years as a videographer, tv and digital content producer.
On 2016, when I decided to move to Dallas, I transferred all my visual knowledge and storytelling to photography, where soon I found my own and different style and achieved some awards.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Contacts, move in to a new city and start from scratch wasn’t simple. Fortunately I met really nice people who helped me to others know about my photography.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What I loved the most about being a photographer is the freedom.
Customers trust in my creative skills and style.
Through the years as portrait and commercial photographer, I specialize in portrait, food and product photography.
When I saw others photographer’s work, I noticed that in many cases they all look the same, there are no layers in the picture, no depth, no story telling.
As a Caravaggio and Vermeer fan, I base my work in shadows. 90% of my work uses shadows to give volume and depth to my pictures.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My only mentors are my returning customers on which I learned that quality, integrity and honesty keep me growing in this hard business.
