Meet Meenu Sen of Denton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meenu Sen.

Meenu, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Originally from Kathmandu, Nepal, I hold a Master’s degree in Sociology from Tribhuvan University. Before entering the beauty industry, I spent over 11 years as a Nepali language instructor for foreigners, including teaching at the Denmark Embassy. That experience taught me the importance of understanding people from different cultures and connecting with them on a personal level—something I now bring into my work every day.

My journey into beauty started as a simple hobby. I loved shaping brows and experimenting with beauty techniques for friends and family. Over time, that passion turned into a profession that has now spanned more than 20 years. I’ve always believed that beauty isn’t just about appearance—it’s about confidence and care—and I strive to make every client feel both.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Moving from Nepal and adjusting to a new country came with many challenges. Building a career from scratch in a place where everything was new—language, culture, and environment—was not easy. But through patience, persistence, and the support of my wonderful clients, I was able to grow and build something meaningful.

Winning Best of Denton is a dream come true and a reminder that hard work, passion, and genuine care for people truly make a difference.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a licensed esthetician. I do threading services, brows tinting, brows lamination, waxing and facials.
