Life & Work with Stevestevesteve of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stevestevesteve.

Hi stevestevesteve, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Chicago, and I started writing poetry back in the fifth grade. What began as simple poems gradually grew into songwriting as I got older. Writing became more than just a creative hobby; it turned into my outlet, my way of processing life when things got heavy. There were moments where putting words on paper was the thing that kept me grounded and helped me push forward.

That connection to writing naturally led me into music. I’ve always been a huge fan of music, how it inspires, how it brings people together, and how it allows you to express what you can’t always say out loud. I loved sharing music with others, and over time, that passion pushed me to start shaping my own sound.

My journey definitely hasn’t been a straight line, but every step, from poetry to songwriting, to fully stepping into my artistry, has helped me become the artist I am today. Now, I’m using my creativity and my story to motivate, uplift, and remind people that they’re not walking their path alone.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been moving from Chicago to Dallas and trying to find my place in a new music scene. Building community, making genuine connections, and forming a real following has taken time and patience. It’s been a process of starting over, learning the landscape, and proving myself all over again.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an artist with a sound rooted in soulful, alternative rock, blended with elements of hip-hop. I’m known for creating music that feels warm and intentional, with vocals that draw people in and lyrics that give listeners something real to sit with. One of the things I’m most proud of is my ability to genuinely connect with a crowd, whether it’s an intimate room or a larger stage, I aim to make people feel seen. What sets me apart is that my music doesn’t just sound good; it invites people to reflect, feel, and dig deeper.

How do you think about happiness?
My beautiful woman and my daughters make me happy because they remind me of what really matters: love, purpose, and legacy. Being in right standing with God gives me peace and direction; it keeps my life centered and grounded. Creating a song, art, an experience, and stepping into my role as a creative director all bring me joy. Those moments of creativity allow me to express who I am, grow, and leave something meaningful behind.
