From humble beginnings, I stepped into the tax industry simply on a desire to learn something new and create a better financial future for myself and my family. What started with preparing a few returns quickly grew into a passion—helping people navigate their finances, get clarity on their taxes, and receive refunds that truly changed their situation. I studied, invested in training, stayed committed through long nights, and devoted myself to learning not just how to prepare returns, but how to educate, build systems, and develop real results for clients.
Today, that seed has blossomed into a powerful movement. I am now the CEO of Colossal Tax Solutions, a fully operating service bureau with a full administrative team, W-2 employees, structured systems, state compliance, and a training platform that has impacted hundreds of professionals across the country. I’ve trained tax preparers at every level—from new beginners to office owners—while expanding into multiple service lines like amendments, transcript decoding, business filings, tax liability resolution, and more.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? Not at all.
My journey in the tax industry came with real challenges—financial, emotional, operational, and personal.
When I first started, I didn’t come in with a large team, fancy systems, or industry connections. I had to learn everything from scratch—software, compliance, tax law changes, marketing, and building client trust. There were seasons where I didn’t have a training structure, no blueprint for how to scale, and no one to ask for guidance. It was trial, error, growth, and repetition.
I struggled with balancing motherhood, entrepreneurship, and leadership at the same time. There were moments when the workload was overwhelming, when I questioned whether I was doing it right, and when building a team required me to show up as a leader before I fully understood what leadership looked like. Transitioning from doing returns myself to managing systems, operations, payroll, and staff wasn’t easy.
There were slower seasons when clients hadn’t yet fully trusted the brand, times when people doubted my vision, and moments where I invested more into training, tools, and office expenses than I made. But every obstacle forced me to elevate—professionally and personally.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
For anyone just starting out, my biggest piece of advice is to give yourself permission to start small, stay consistent, and keep learning. When I began, I thought success had to look big immediately—but in reality, success came one client, one return, one training, and one system at a time.
I wish I knew earlier that mistakes are part of the process. You won’t know everything at the beginning. You will second-guess yourself at times. You will have slow seasons. You will have days where the vision feels bigger than your capacity—and that’s normal. Growth is uncomfortable, but that discomfort forces you to develop structure, knowledge, and confidence.
Here are the things I wish someone told me upfront:

Most importantly—take care of your name. Your brand will follow you into every room, every refund, every audit case, every client review, and every partnership. When people trust you, they return and they refer.
So my greatest advice?
Start confidently. Stay teachable. Protect your reputation. Stay consistent long enough for the results to show.
