Today we’d like to introduce you to Florentino M.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve done art my whole life, started with pencil and moved my way to pastels. It wasn’t until I was about 20yrs old that I started using oils and acrylics. At first it was always just a hobby, but it turned into a career unexpectedly. 16 years later here I am living off my art.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Living off your own creativity is a very bumpy road.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work is known for its texture and distortion. I’m lucky enough to say I found my own style, my work is easily recognized because of it.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Well I’d love to be in galleries outside of Texas. That’s definitely a goal.
