Conversations with Maria Munoz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Munoz.

Hi Maria, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My entrepreneurship started in 2012. With the grace of God and my clients, Lifestyle Advocates, LLC has flourished into something beyond what I could have imagined. What started as a passion for helping others through personal training now offers a variety of services through my two DBAs Studio XXII and Subtle Designs by Saidy. It has been an amazing ride, now I am seeking to help other companies development through project management.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is never an easy road! My focus on market trends directly translates to client value: by keeping operating costs low through smart project development, Lifestyle Advocates LLC can maintain affordable pricing without sacrificing quality

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in end-to-end project lifecycle management, particularly within resource-constrained environments typical of startups and small businesses. My hands-on experience spans agile methodologies, scope definition, stakeholder communication, and risk mitigation.

My core expertise lies in operational cost optimization and process efficiency. I excel at analyzing workflows to identify bottlenecks, implementing streamlined solutions, and leveraging technology to maximize output without significant capital expenditure.

I am known for my resourcefulness and resilience. In an entrepreneurial setting, you don’t always have access to a large, specialized team; you learn to pivot quickly, negotiate effectively, and use data-driven insights to make high-impact decisions under pressure. Colleagues often cite my ability to maintain project momentum and team morale even when faced with unexpected roadblocks or budget constraints.

What sets me apart from a traditional project manager is my owner-operator mindset. I don’t just manage the triple constraint (scope, time, budget); I manage the business outcome. This means a relentless focus on profitability, ROI, and sustainable growth. I approach every project with an eye toward its direct impact on the bottom line, rather than just delivering a specified output. This entrepreneurial agility, combined with my rigorous pursuit of PMP certification, allows me to blend structured methodology with practical, real-world adaptability.

I am proud of how far I have come and excited for new future endeavors.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’m incredibly proud of the journey that has brought me here, and I’m equally enthusiastic about future endeavors—both professional and philanthropic.

In line with this, I’ve recently started volunteering my time as a Project Manager for The Brickers Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to combat disparity and increase community improvement.

This new role allows me to leverage the efficiency and strategic thinking honed in the startup world to make a tangible impact in the non-profit sector. It reinforces my belief that effective project management principles are universal tools for positive change. I look forward to contributing to their mission while continuing my transition into the corporate project management landscape.
