Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlynn Gutierrez.
Hi Kaitlynn, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When I was younger, I always knew that I was created for more. I grew up in a small town in West Texas called Lubbock. My grandma would always tell me to get out of this town and make a name for myself, I never would’ve thought that I would be led to start my own business three years ago in a city where I knew no one. Through all the ups and downs all the good times and the bad times it was always worth it. Flawless By Kaitt isn’t just a brand, but it’s my life. Every day is a challenge and every day I have to motivate myself to steward this business properly. I was given this opportunity, not only by chance, but by God‘s will. Growing up, I always knew I was creative I always enjoyed putting smiles on peoples faces and making their day. I never knew that there would be a business behind it all. The true meaning behind Flawless By Kaitt is my commitment to doing everything with excellence—not just for my brand, but for every client and every event I’m privileged to be part of. It’s an honor to be chosen, and creating those flawless moments brings me tremendous joy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting your own business is not always easy. It takes a lot of hard work and it takes a village of support behind you. If it wasn’t for my husband, my family, and my very close friends always believing in me motivating me and pushing me to be the best version of me that I can be I wouldn’t be here today. Having a giant support system is key to owning your own business. Struggling financially has always had its ups and downs. Some months are good months where you’re booked every week and some months are bad months where you have one event a month. However, having people who share like or comment on your socials always helps get your name out there. Working for hours on end creating the perfect reel or the perfect caption or taking photos of your work over and over again no one sees the long hours that you put behind making everything you post flawless.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Flawless By Kaitt, the business name is very broad. The reason being is because I specialize in Charcuterie Design, Event Planning and Brand Marketing. I wouldn’t say I specialize in one more than the other, I steward all three equally. I have a love and passion for each one of the services I offer. I would say I’m most proud of myself for putting myself out there in three very different industries. What’s set me apart is I try and be very personable with every single one of my clients I never want to be too professional or too relaxed. I want each of my clients to feel like they’re talking to a close friend or family member when they decide to work with Flawless By Kaitt .
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Taking risks while being a small business owner will always happen. For me and my business my risk was starting this business Full-time three years ago. Relying on one income and my husband as the sole provider of our family. We make ends meet and we both work day in and day out to try and stay afloat in this economy. Taking the risk of starting a business, knowing absolutely no one in this city and having no family close by has always been hard. But God has always made a way and we have always gone with more than enough, every risk has been worth taking.
