We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brandyn Harris. Check out our conversation below.
Brandyn, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: When have you felt most loved—and did you believe you deserved it?
“I’ve felt most loved in the quiet, everyday ways my wife shows up for me and our family. It’s not one big moment—it’s the consistency of her heart. She supports me no matter what, celebrates my wins, and believes in me even when I’m second-guessing myself. She has a way of making love feel safe, generous, and unconditional.
There are mornings when she does something small but thoughtful without ever asking for praise, or evenings when she senses I’m overwhelmed and steps in with patience and calm. Those moments stack up into a feeling of being deeply cared for. It makes me feel seen in a way that goes beyond words.
Did I believe I deserved it? At first, no. I think love at that level can be humbling—you almost wonder how someone can give so freely and so consistently. But over time, I realized her love wasn’t something I needed to earn. It was who she is. She teaches me every day that being loved isn’t about perfection—it’s about partnership, grace, and choosing each other again and again. And because of her, I’ve learned to receive love with gratitude instead of questioning whether I’m worthy of it.”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
“My name is Brandyn Harris, and I’m the founder and Chief Travel Advisor at Travigent, a boutique adventure-focused travel agency based in Dallas, Texas. I started Travigent in 2011 with a simple belief: travel should feel personal, effortless, and truly immersive—not just a packaged itinerary. We specialize in crafting bespoke journeys that help travelers discover the world in meaningful, unexpected ways. From luxury retreats and boutique hotels to food culture, local experiences, and family adventures, every trip is designed to reflect the traveler’s unique story and interests.
What makes Travigent special is our commitment to detail, curiosity, and genuine connection. We get to know our travelers deeply, then curate authentic itineraries that feel handcrafted—not mass-market. I personally explore destinations to experience hotels, restaurants, tours, and transportation firsthand, which allows me to recommend options with confidence, nuance, and insider insight that you simply can’t get from online booking engines.
Right now, Travigent is evolving through new technology, elevated supplier partnerships, dynamic itinerary design tools, and a growing network of immersive travel experiences around the world. We are constantly innovating to save travelers time, reduce stress, and deliver thoughtful, customized journeys that feel elevated and memorable from beginning to end. For us, travel isn’t just about where you go—it’s about how you feel along the way, and the stories you bring home with you.”
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
“A moment that shaped how I see the world happened many years ago when I traveled to Japan for the first time. It wasn’t just a trip—it was an awakening. I had never experienced a place where culture, food, tradition, hospitality, and daily life were so different from what I grew up with. I remember walking through neighborhoods, trying local foods, navigating the trains, and interacting with people who showed a level of kindness and curiosity that felt completely new to me.
I realized travel wasn’t simply about sightseeing—it was about perspective. Japan opened my eyes to the beauty of embracing the unfamiliar, respecting different ways of living, and finding comfort outside of routine. That experience ignited a passion that changed my life. I wanted more of those moments, and I wanted my clients to feel that same sense of wonder, connection, and discovery.
Since then, travel has become my way of helping others see the world with fresh eyes. Every itinerary I create is designed to make someone feel what I felt in Japan: inspired, welcomed, transformed, and deeply connected to a culture that is not their own.”
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
“The fear that has held me back the most in my life has been the fear of failure. I’m someone who dreams big, takes on a lot, and believes deeply in the things I create—especially Travigent. But when you put your heart into something, the possibility of it not working can feel incredibly personal. Failure, even imagined, can be intimidating because it threatens not just a goal, but your identity and sense of purpose.
For a long time, that fear made me second-guess myself or delay decisions because I wanted everything to be perfect before I shared it with the world. I worried about judgment, about letting people down, and about the risks involved in chasing something I love. But over the years—especially through travel—I’ve learned that failure isn’t final. It’s feedback. It teaches you where to adjust, where to grow, and where to trust yourself more deeply.
Travel itself helped me see that life is bigger than perfection. The best moments happen when you step outside certainty and embrace the unknown. Every destination has taught me that mistakes, challenges, and uncertainty are part of the adventure. Now, when fear shows up, I try to treat it as a companion rather than an enemy. It reminds me that I care, that my dreams matter, and that the only true failure is choosing not to try.”
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
“A belief I am deeply committed to, no matter how long it takes, is protecting and honoring the natural world that makes travel so extraordinary. At Travigent, we respect and adore nature in all its forms—the oceans we sail on, the forests we hike through, the mountains we marvel at, and the cultures and ecosystems that exist because of God’s creation. Travel gives us access to so much beauty, and we feel a responsibility to care for it in return.
To honor that belief, Travigent plants a tree for every traveler for every single day they travel. It’s our way of giving back in a tangible way and helping restore and protect forests worldwide. Our planet is a gift, and its landscapes are part of the reason people travel in the first place. We want to ensure that the next generation can experience lush jungles, clean air, thriving wildlife, and unspoiled destinations just as we do today.
We only have one Earth—and caring for her is not a short-term initiative for us. It’s a long-term promise, rooted in stewardship, gratitude, and the understanding that true adventure begins with respecting the world we’re lucky enough to explore.”
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
“The story I hope people tell about me when I’m gone is that I lived with purpose, kindness, and curiosity—and that I used my gifts to make life better for others. I want people to remember that I loved my family fiercely, that I showed up for them, and that I poured my heart into creating a life full of experiences, connection, and gratitude.
I also hope that people say I helped them see the world differently. Through Travigent, my goal has never been just to book travel—it has been to inspire wonder, open minds, and help travelers experience cultures, people, and places with respect and appreciation. If someone remembers me as the person who encouraged them to step outside their comfort zone, go somewhere new, try a local dish, or experience a moment that changed them, that would mean everything to me.
Ultimately, I want my legacy to be love, generosity, and curiosity. That I cared for our planet, treated people with genuine warmth, valued experiences over things, and made others feel seen and supported. If, years after I’m gone, people can say that I helped them create memories that brought joy, connection, or healing, then I will have lived a life worth living.”
