We recently had the chance to connect with JOSE FLORES and have shared our conversation below.
Hi JOSE, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Recently, I have found a great deal of joy outside of work through being present with my family. Watching my son play soccer has been especially meaningful; seeing his dedication and growth on the field is both inspiring and rewarding. In addition to supporting him, spending quality time with my other children has been equally fulfilling. Each of them brings their own unique energy and personality to our family time, and being able to share in their interests and experiences has added a real sense of balance to my life. These moments together have reminded me of the importance of staying grounded, appreciating the people who matter most, and making time for the experiences that bring genuine fulfillment.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is DJ MONO, and I am a DJ specializing in private events, nightclubs, concerts, and radio shows. Music has always been a major part of my life, and over the years I’ve built a brand focused on creating unforgettable experiences through sound. What makes my work unique is my ability to read a room and connect with diverse audiences—whether it’s an intimate celebration, a high-energy club night, or a large-scale concert. I take pride in blending different styles, cultures, and eras of music to craft moments people remember long after the event is over.
Right now, I’m continuing to grow my presence in both the nightlife and private-event industries while also exploring new opportunities in radio and live entertainment. My goal is always the same: to bring people together through music and deliver a high-quality, professional, and memorable experience every time.
My style is shaped by my own experiences growing up around different kinds of music, cultures, and communities. That background helped me develop a sound that’s versatile and relatable, whether I’m playing for a packed nightclub, a wedding, or a live broadcast. I take a lot of pride in being able to read a crowd and adjust in real time, so every event feels unique and intentional.
What makes my work special to me is the relationships I build along the way—clients who trust me with their most important celebrations, crowds who feed off the energy, and listeners who tune in even when they’ve never met me. Right now, I’m continuing to grow my brand by taking on new types of events, expanding my radio presence, and pushing myself creatively. At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to create moments people remember and to share the joy that music has always given me
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that truly shaped how I see the world was becoming a father and building a family of my own. Having three kids and being married has completely changed my perspective on life. It taught me to slow down, appreciate the small things, and understand what really matters at the end of the day. Watching my children grow and seeing the world through their eyes has made me more patient, more grateful, and more intentional in everything I do. Becoming a family man didn’t just change my priorities it grounded me, gave my life deeper purpose, and shaped the way I approach my work, my relationships, and my future.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one thing to my younger self, it would be. Believe in yourself and keep going you’re capable of more than you realize.’ Growing up, I didn’t always see the bigger picture, and there were moments when doubt tried to slow me down. But looking back now, as a husband and father of three, I can see how every challenge became a step toward something better. I would tell my younger self to stay focused, stay hungry, and never underestimate how far hard work and determination can take you. The life you dream about is possible you just have to trust your path and keep moving forward
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I protect at all costs is the importance of family. Growing up, family was always at the center of everything supporting one another, showing up, and staying connected no matter what. Now, as a husband and father of three, that value means even more to me. I make it a priority to create a home filled with love, respect, and unity, because those are the foundations that shape who we become. No matter how busy life gets or how much things change, family is the one value I will always protect and pass on to my children.”
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think people might misunderstand my legacy by focusing only on my career as a DJ the events, the concerts, and the radio shows and not seeing the personal side of what drives me. On the surface, it can look like it’s all about entertainment or being in the spotlight, but the truth is that every step of my career has been motivated by providing for my family, creating experiences that bring people together, and showing my children the value of hard work and passion.
My hope is that my legacy reflects both sides: the professional achievements that people remember and the personal lessons of dedication, love, and family that I pass on to my kids. It’s not just about the music it’s about the life I’m building and the example I leave behind.
