Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Washington.
Jada, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my nursing career over 12 years ago in the city of Chicago, but my calling to healthcare started long before that. From a young age, I knew I would become a nurse or work in healthcare in some capacity. I come from a family of four and am the youngest of two sisters and one brother. My mother is a nurse, and my father worked in construction. As a child, my mother would often take me to work with her, and I vividly remember watching her care for others and thinking, “Wow—she’s an angel.” That moment planted the seed for what would become my life’s work.
Healthcare has been my first and only career. I began working in psychiatric nursing, which laid the foundation for my passion for mental health. Over time, I expanded my clinical experience into acute care, including trauma, progressive care, and surgical settings, before ultimately returning to mental health. Each role shaped my approach to patient care and deepened my understanding of the healthcare system as a whole.
Eventually, I reached a point where I knew I wanted to do more—especially for the patients in my community who often feel overlooked. I wanted to serve those who leave traditional medical offices with unanswered questions, unmet needs, and a sense that they were not truly heard. This desire led me to pursue my Master of Science in Nursing and become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
I founded Creative Care & Wellness to bridge the gap between nursing and advanced practice care. Through CC&W, I provide both mental health services and concierge nursing, allowing me to meet patients where they are—literally and figuratively. My concierge nursing services support individuals who benefit from in-home care, including medication organization beyond basic pillbox setups, chronic disease education, personalized treatment planning, assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), and more.
As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, I also specialize in the evaluation and treatment of mood disorders, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. I proudly offer compassionate, patient-centered care to children, adolescents, teens, and adults.
At Creative Care & Wellness, my mission is simple: to be a voice, a bridge, and a support system for those who deserve to be heard, understood, and cared for—without feeling rushed, dismissed, or overlooked.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As with anything worth having, the journey was never easy. While pursuing my education and building my career, I was also raising young children. Becoming a mother at a young age instilled in me an unshakable drive to be self-sufficient and to provide for my children without struggle. Balancing motherhood, school, clinical rotations, and work required discipline, sacrifice, and an incredible support system. My sisters and family played a vital role in helping me manage a demanding schedule that included coursework, clinical assignments, and travel as a nurse.
There were moments of doubt along the way. I vividly remember failing a medical-surgical exam in nursing school—a moment that deeply impacted my confidence and made me question whether nursing was truly meant for me. At the time, that exam felt like everything. In hindsight, it was simply one chapter in a much larger story. The universe had other plans, and I have since achieved goals far beyond what I once imagined for myself.
Struggle was undeniably part of the process. My early plans were inchoate—still forming—but full of potential. Transitioning from working for others to building something of my own was a deeply liminal experience, filled with uncertainty and growth. Yet, step by step, I made it happen—and continue to do so.
This journey shaped not only my career, but my resilience, purpose, and commitment to creating meaningful change for myself, my family, and the communities I serve.
We’ve been impressed with Creative Care and Wellness, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Creative Care & Wellness is a unique blend of concierge nursing and comprehensive mental health services designed to provide personalized, patient-centered care. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner offering ongoing psychiatric care, including medication management and treatment for depression, mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and related conditions. Mental health services are currently provided via telehealth to ensure accessibility and convenience.
In addition to psychiatric services, my concierge nursing practice offers in-home and travel-based care throughout the DFW area. These services support clients who may need assistance with chronic disease management, medication management, vital sign monitoring, post-surgical care, activities of daily living (ADL) support, and more. I proudly serve children, adolescents, teens, and adults, tailoring care to meet each individual’s needs.
What sets Creative Care & Wellness apart is my ability to combine strong clinical expertise with genuine human connection. With over a decade of experience across psychiatric, acute, and concierge nursing, I understand both the complexities of the healthcare system and the real-life challenges patients face. I take the time to listen, educate, and develop personalized care plans that extend beyond symptom management. By bridging mental health services with concierge nursing, I provide continuity of care that truly meets patients where they are.
Creative Care & Wellness operates on an out-of-pocket, pay-as-you-go model, eliminating the stress of insurance denials and allowing care to remain flexible, transparent, and patient-focused. What I am most proud of, brand-wise, is building a practice rooted in trust, accessibility, and genuine compassion. This brand represents my commitment to unrushed care, advocacy, empowerment, and meaningful community impact—ensuring every patient feels heard, supported, and confident in their care journey.
