Today we’d like to introduce you to Bondie Metchore.
Hi Bondie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When I first started my business, it was all about finding my feet in a new country and figuring out how to support myself and my kids. I needed to reinvent myself, to create something solid that could grow and give us more than just a survival mode. I wanted to build a life where we could truly thrive, not just get by.
I began by learning how to design websites, but as I got deeper into the world of small business, I realized there was so much more I could offer. My business grew into something much bigger than just website design. Now, I help small businesses with everything from setting up systems to managing their marketing, creating graphics, and building their online presence. I like to think of my business as a boutique marketing firm that helps entrepreneurs create their digital homes, find clients, and build funnels to grow.
Through it all, my business has been built on constant evolution. I’ve spent years learning, adapting and growing with every challenge and embracing the uncertainty that comes with running a business. That willingness to roll with the changes and always be open to learning has been the key to how I got here.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has been anything but smooth. It has been filled with a lot of learning, a lot of ups and downs, and a fair share of tears. Business isn’t static, it changes constantly. Algorithms shift, economies fluctuate, and clients come and go and through it all I’ve had to figure out how to market my services in a way that resonates.
There’s been so much mindset work involved. Constantly reevaluating what’s working, what’s not, and adjusting accordingly. I’ve learned to trust God, to trust myself, and to trust the skills I’ve built. It’s been a journey of learning how to sell those skills, I’ve had to break down complicated ideas and explain them in simple, clear terms. It’s been a journey of growth, but through it all, I made a firm decision: This has to work. There’s no other option. I wasn’t willing to settle for anything less.
On the personal side, there have been challenges too like adjusting to a new country, learning the language, going through a divorce, raising my kids alone. But through it all, I’ve learned emotional strength and grown my faith. Every challenge, both personal and professional, has shaped me into who I am today. It’s all been part of the process, and I’m grateful for how far it’s brought me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I run a boutique marketing firm, and what I do is help small businesses and entrepreneurs create and grow their digital presence from the ground up. I specialize in designing websites, managing and building social media, creating graphics, and setting up systems and funnels that help businesses run smoothly.
I work behind the scenes to organize the techy stuff, making sure everything, from payments to customer flows, works seamlessly.
What really lights me up, though, is working with people who have an idea but don’t know how to bring it to life. I love sitting down with them to craft a brand, create a voice, define their audience, and then turn that vision into a digital home. We build their online presence, and I get to watch their businesses grow, attracting clients and turning their dreams into reality.
What sets me apart is my passion for making sure each business has its own unique space in the digital world. It’s such an honor to help people who are ready to do new things, market their work, and grow. That transformation, from idea to action, is what fuels me every day.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Here are a few things I’d tell anyone who’s just starting out:
First, you don’t have to start as an expert, you just have to stay willing. Keep evolving, keep sharpening your skills constantly.
Second, choose consistency over trends. Fads come and go, but steady, focused effort builds a real business. Show up even when it feels quiet. That’s where the foundation gets poured.
Third, build trust like it’s part of the product because it is. Take care of people, communicate clearly, and do what you say you’ll do. Over time, you’ll stop feeling like you’re hunting for clients, and you’ll start getting referrals. People sending their friends, sharing your name, and saying, “You have to work with them.”
Fourth, make excellence your strategy. It’s not just about closing the sale; it’s about delivering something so good people rave about it. Charge your price, own your value, and back it up with quality and commitment.
And finally: decide that you’re not quitting. Give yourself permission to be a work in progress, but don’t give yourself an exit plan. If you keep learning, keep showing up, and keep doing right by people, it will grow.
