Community Highlights: Meet Amir Kamali of Golden Ratio Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amir Kamali.

Hi Amir, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am originally Persian, and before I came to the United States, I first moved from Iran to the Philippines on 2009. There, I immersed myself in both dentistry and music, learning and growing in those fields from 2013 to 2015.

In 2016, I made the big move to the U.S., landing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I started from scratch, facing the challenge of breaking into the local DJ scene without any initial connections. Eventually, after a lot of persistence, I got my first shot DJing on a slow Wednesday night. That opportunity grew into bigger gigs, and soon I was opening for more prominent DJs.

Thanks to the support of DJ Danny West at the beginning and ongoing support DJ Camilo Espinosa , who took me under their wing in 2018, I expanded my reach. They helped me find new venues and introduced me to a broader DJ community. Over time, I became known for my open-format, multilingual video and audio sets.

In 2021, I moved to Los Angeles for further training in dentistry at UCLA, but I still fly back to Dallas on weekends to keep DJing at night. During the day, I’m a dentist and an aesthetician, running my own clinic called Golden Ratio Aesthetics, and I also manage a dental clinic in San Diego.

And of course, my DJ name is DJ Molar because by day, it’s all about perfecting smiles and aesthetics, and by night, it’s all about the music.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely wasn’t smooth sailing. When I first arrived in the U.S., I had to start entirely from scratch. Coming to the United States, I had built up my DJ and dentistry skills, but I had no local connections in Dallas. For months, I faced a lot of rejection and had to take unpaid or low-visibility gigs just to prove myself. Eventually, with persistence, I found people who believed in me and helped me get established. But those early days were definitely a struggle.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Golden Ratio Aesthetics?
I’m actually a Dentist as well, and I run a clinic called Golden Ratio Aesthetics here in Dallas and San Diego.
We’re a bit of a hybrid: we offer dental services, but we also provide a full range of beauty treatments like Botox, fillers, and weight loss programs, plus we have our own line of skincare products.
What I’d love people to know is that Golden Ratio Aesthetics is really about blending top-tier dental and aesthetic care. We focus on helping people feel confident, whether that’s through a brighter smile or a rejuvenated look. I’m proud of the personalized, welcoming vibe we offer, and that we get to combine healthcare and beauty in a unique way.

Any big plans?
Looking ahead, my plans are centered on growth, creativity, and impact across both of my worlds.
On the music side, I want to take DJing to the next level by moving deeper into music production and performing on larger stages. My goal is to play bigger venues and, eventually, major festivals. More importantly, I want to show other professionals especially dentists, doctors, and people in demanding careers that it’s possible to pursue creative passions alongside a medical profession. I hope to be an example that you don’t have to choose just one path.
Professionally, in dentistry and aesthetics, my focus is on expansion. I plan to open multiple clinic locations across different states, broaden the services we offer, and continue building Golden Ratio Aesthetics as a trusted brand. I’m also excited to introduce my skincare line to a wider audience and make it accessible to more people.
Overall, I’m looking forward to building something that blends discipline and creativity, and proving that success can exist at the intersection of both.
