Conversations with Gary Neal Jr

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gary Neal Jr.

Hi gary, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m a veteran of both the US Army and the Marines. After leaving the military I became a government contractor and spent almost eight years in Afghanistan. Once that part of my life was over, I decided to create my brand Pride and Egoos, as a way to leave a legacy for my kids. I fought through very tough times, but kept pushing the Pride and Egoos brand. Eventually people related to it and some celebrities began to wear it. Over time, with marketing we began running campaigns in Time Square, Arlington Texas, and the Las Vegas strip. Pride and Egoos has been on the CW network and Roku. Beginning in January of 2026 I will have a weekly show on Fox 38 in Corpus Christi Tx. We will also be filming a movie 3.14 The Thrill Of The Hunt summer of 2026.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Time management and staying on task are really keys to success in anything. Nothing is ever smooth, but staying consistent and making connections are of the utmost importance. Nobody makes it by themselves, so finding like minded people who have great work ethics will propel your vision, and inspire you to keep going.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an author, who actually has a book at the Harvard University bookstore. I have a clothing brand and I help promote others businesses. Being a jack of many trades, I am known from books and TV appearances. I take a certain amount of pride in creating something from nothing and being a dad.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Closed mouths don’t get fed. You should align yourself with people who not only inspire you, but push you to grow. Always search for those who force you to operate a little bit out of your comfort zone. This forces you to grow. If you’re the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room. Never operate from ego.
