Today we’d like to introduce you to Christie Good.
Hi Christie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been working since I was 15 years old, and that early start shaped everything about how I approach life and business—work hard, stay curious, and don’t wait for opportunities to be handed to you. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Community Health, originally planning to build a career in public health. But after graduation, reality set in. The entry-level roles available didn’t offer the financial stability I needed, so I made a tough but necessary pivot.
That decision led me into finance, where I started my career with American Honda Finance. What began as a practical move turned into a 25-year career in corporate America. I spent eight years at Honda and then 17 years at Capital One, gaining deep experience, sharpening my skills, and learning how large organizations really work from the inside.
In May of 2023, I was laid off—and while it was unexpected, it was also clarifying. As I interviewed for similar roles, I realized something important: I didn’t want to go back. I had always dreamed of owning my own business, of building something on my own terms. Being laid off was the push I needed to stop playing it safe and start betting on myself, finally.
Today, I’m doing just that. I bring decades of experience, a strong work ethic, and a belief that success doesn’t have to come at the cost of fulfillment. This business is the result of trusting my instincts, embracing change, and choosing a path that aligns with who I am and where I want to go.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening my business wasn’t easy—and it wasn’t supposed to be. It took ten months to claim the right location, months of navigating architects, contractors, and permits, and countless decisions most people never see. What started as a rough sketch on a notepad became a fully realized vision through persistence, precision, and obsession over every detail—from paint colors to the shape of the bar. This space wasn’t built by chance. It was built with intention, grit, and an unwavering belief in the vision.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

Opening my own business is my proudest accomplishment because it was a dream I carried for many years. Margarita Hut To Go represents more than just frozen cocktails—it’s about building a brand that becomes a household name and helping shape the future of the to-go margarita industry. Beyond that, one of my biggest goals is to inspire the young women who work with me to believe that owning a business is a viable option. I want them to know that with vision, hard work, and confidence, they can dream big and create something of their own, too.
What matters most to you?
Great customer service and loyal customers are everything to me. From the moment someone walks through our doors, I want them to feel like they’ve escaped to a mini vacation—fun, relaxed, and full of good energy. My goal is to keep growing the brand so people far beyond Denton know exactly where to go when they want great drinks, great vibes, and a place that feels like an instant getaway.
