Check Out Adrienne Edmon’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Edmon.

Hi Adrienne, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2015, one of my Sorority sisters randomly asked me to do her makeup for her Bridal Shower. I had no experience doing makeup on others, but because she trusted me, I gladly accepted the challenge. The Bride received so many compliments on her makeup from her guests and several Bridesmaids asked to book me for her actual Wedding. I booked five faces for my first paid gig and didn’t have a clue what I was getting myself into. Thankfully my work was a success and everyone loved their look. I proudly posted my work on social media and potential clients began to inquire about services. Ten years later I’m still booked and blessed!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a single mom to my amazing son, working a full time corporate job and being a Makeup Artist definitely has its challenges. Scheduling clients around my 8-5p and keeping up with my son’s daily activities can be a lot at times. Thankfully I have a great support system and village that’s stepped up tremendously; allowing me to continue to do what I love as often as I can. I’ve also learned that makeup can be somewhat seasonal and in high demand during certain months of the year. Initially, I felt discouraged and disappointed that my calendar wasn’t full. I’ve learned to embrace the slow days by sharpening my skillset, creating and editing content or simply taking the time to rest and reset.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Makeup Artist that specializes in Full and Neutral Glam applications. I believe my artistry is enhancing my client’s look without totally changing what they look like. I’m very proud of booking celebrity clientele, but when new customers become return clients, it really brings me joy. I believe it speaks volumes about the quality of my work, my positive energy and overall good vibe. I truly love that makeup allows me to connect with a variety of women and make them look and feel gorgeous.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love that the DFW area is so big and broad, creating potential for a vast variety of clientele. It also is a place where the beauty industry can be oversaturated with professionals offering the same services. With that being said, I truly believe whoever is for me will come to me and I’ve been blessed with consistent and steady clients for many years.
