Cyerrah Savage shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Cyerrah, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
My days right now consist of working a 9–5, running my business, being a mom, and constantly expanding new ideas and ventures. Life feels a little hectic as I prepare for the new year while juggling a full-time job and showing up as the best mom I can—some days I balance it all better than others. Even with the challenges, I’m excited about what’s ahead and what this next year will bring, so stay tuned.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m the owner and CEO of Beauty Bar, a solo-owned beauty brand founded in 2020. I specialize in luxury makeup services and education, along with lash clusters and brow tinting, all tailored to women who want a high-end, memorable experience—especially beginners who need extra guidance and confidence in beauty. Over the years, I’ve grown my brand through strong methods, intentional client care, and a growing roster of local and celebrity clientele, with an exciting new expansion launching in 2026.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed success only came from working a corporate job or becoming a doctor or lawyer. I never imagined entrepreneurship as an option, especially in the beauty industry, because I grew up seeing adults work for others rather than build their own businesses. As I got older, I discovered my love for beauty, transformation, and artistry, and realized that serving others and building something of my own was not only possible—but aligned with who I truly am.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time when I wanted to give up. I recently lost motivation and inspiration for makeup because the income and client growth weren’t where I wanted them to be, and I didn’t feel like my efforts were turning into profit. I began exploring other income paths, believing the beauty industry alone wouldn’t be enough unless I kept working a 9–5.
Eventually, something clicked—I reconnected with my creativity, fell back in love with makeup, and gained clarity around what was missing in my business. That clarity reignited my passion, brought back my joy, and showed me how to move forward, reminding me why I couldn’t walk away.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest misconceptions in my industry is that anyone can watch TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook tutorials and instantly know how to do makeup on themselves or others. That’s simply not true. Makeup requires dedication, practice, and a deep understanding of the products, brushes, and techniques—and most importantly, the why behind them. Social media makes it look easy, but true skill comes from education and experience. While I didn’t attend a cosmetology school, I’ve done extensive research and studied beyond what’s seen online to refine my skills and provide results that truly benefit my clients and myself.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as loving and full of energy—the kind of person they looked forward to seeing, who inspired, motivated, and made them feel comfortable sharing or learning. I want to leave a legacy for my children that they can be proud of, something built from the ground up that shows my accomplishments and the impact I made.
